Positive experience, but...
First, I would like to say the Dr Mitchell and his staff are top notch. However, I went I for knee problems and it was suggested I try knee braces. My first question was how much. They didn't know. They said Insurance usually takes care of it. Well, insurance covered $92. That should be enough for a knee brace...well no. On the website of the company, they charge $129.99. Well, they charged me that amount even after getting the insurance money. So these braces are $221.99 in total. Per brace! So, I received a $258.99 bill well after the amount of time I could return the braces and after they collected insurance money! My suggestion to future patients is NOT to take any braces from the doctor. Try them on...get them fitted, even take a picture of them...then go online and buy them yourself. At least you have some control and know what you are getting. The company is crooked. They know they can charge more through the Dr's office so they do! Beware.

When I first came into the office and he asked about my pain, I told him it was 10, he proceeded to tell me I wouldn’t be able to talk if It was a 10. First he only took X-ray, and said I had arthritis and suggested I get a shot, it didn’t do anything, then I had MRI, had my follow up appt, and he said my shoulder was messed up really bad, wanted me to get another shot, I did, and nothing happened again. He wasted 3 months of my time before referring me out. Still in excruciating pain

During my visit he did not listen to anything I had to say about my level of pain and how I was going to manage. I asked about pain medicine he told me to ask my primary doctor in which I told him she does not give pain medication. Doctors today have no compassion for people in pain and I am no longer going to go and see any doctor and get any replacement I'll just live in pain.

I hesitate to do this as DR. Mitchell is already tough to see as he is well liked and very busy. He's treated me for a torn achilles tendon before transferring me to UVA as I was not improving. I then used him for surgery for my torn rotator cuff. Best bedside manner of just about any Dr I've had in my 60 years. This alone makes it worthwhile to see him. But he is very knowledgable so there's that as well.
