Wonderful and Dedicated Doctor!
Dr. Cotè and his nurse are absolutely wonderful! He was my surgeon in 2022 for a nephrectomy and has provided excellent care to me. He answers questions thoroughly and takes his time with me during appointments. Dr. Cotè and the staff at Va. Urology are the very best and I highly recommend him to anyone searching for a great urologist.

Condescending, unprofessional excuse of a doctor
After CT scan, I showed up for my cysto appointment. Due to a scheduling issue, I was re-assigned to Dr. Cote. 30 mins late, he quickly popped into the exam room without knocking, introduced himself then proceeded to tell me that he didn't know why I was there. He said - you have UT cancer and made it clear that he couldn't help me. My kidney had to come out and I would need dialysis. He told me that I needed to "get my affairs in order." I was stunned. Stunned, I asked if he would explain this to my wife. He threw his hands up in the air and condescendingly asked why she wasn't in the room. (I was there for a cysto, why would she be in the room?) He stated that he didn't have time to explain this again but agreed to give her the "short version." It was surreal. The only thing that he actually did well was refer me out. The VCU doctors were puzzled by his diagnosis. He is a one trick pony. I hope to never see him again. He should not be a doctor. They cut, not treat. 0 stars

Rude and Horrible Attitude
I have never taken the time to write a review of any Doctor and rarely to I write a review of any service, product or professional. Having said that I felt compelled to warn people about this poor excuse for a human. He is very abrupt and extremely rude. If you want to be talked down to and treated horribly go see this man. There are many wonderful Doctors at Virginia Urology but Cote is not one of them.

Poor excuse for a doctor
If you like a cocky, unprofessional, non empathetic physician, he’s your guy! I’ve never been treated as disrespectful as this man treated me and my family today. Virginia urology, you can do better than THIS guy, he needs to retire.

100 negative stars!!!!!!
Let me start off by saying I realize I have a complex case. After seeing Dr. Cote I felt as though I was judged inappropriately, in fact down right discrimination. Dr Cote came into the room had some of my ER visits printed out, stated something along the lines of here is your book. Threw them on the desk and said he didn't want to get started in a baseball game that was already being played. He went on to tell me the do's/don't's of a clean catch urine specimen. I too am a healthcare professional, that label is very loosely used obviously. Dr Cote was anything but professional! He actually cussed during the appt several times. To add insult to injury he advised that women w/a little extra weight get uti's. I would believe this, but due to the fact that I've have hx of vaginal fistulas wether I weighed 118lbs or 200lbs due to the overuse steroids. I left the office feeling sad for what some of the healthcare providers have become. He is a disgrace to the medical community.

Dr Cote has been my Urologist for at least 18 years. He is always very friendly, courteous, professional and listens. He spends quality time with me and I never feel rushed with my appointments with him. He is a patient's doctor and we need more of that in the medical profession.

In December 2002 I was having some urinary tract issues thinking it was a simple infection. After discovering that it was not an infection my Primary Care Physician referred me to Dr. Cote as he was in the unique position of seeing my radiology results which depicted a tumor that was attached to my bladder. Dr. Cote performed the biopsy confirming a stage 3 diagnosis. He operated on me on January 31, 2003 and the surgery went very well with a partial cystectomy, leaving me with half my bladder. He cared for me for 15 additional years seeing me annually and I am now cancer-free for 18 years. Not only is Dr. Cote an excellent urologist and surgeon, he is also a great counsel on your overall health and takes a personal interest in his patients. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Cote to anyone in need of a urologist!

Dr Cote is a excellent Doctor. When I first was diagnosed with mass on my kidney s from another doctor from another facility They wanted to operate on me right away. God led me to get a second opinion and led me to Dr Cote. He explained to me it was to small to have surgery kept an eye on it to see if would grow more. After a year it did. Had surgery was a success. If I would have had surgery the first time don’t know what would have happened to me. The first Doctor just wanted to experiment. Whenever someone has urology issues I immediately refer them to Dr Cote. He is the best I referDr Cote to my mother, sister, brother, anyone

Dr. Cote has been my husband’s urologist since 1992. My husband, Bob, first went to him for testicular surgery. Dr. Cote has operated on him for that, for removal of 3 tumors in the bladder and two surgeries for cancer in the kidneys. Bob is doing great due to Dr. Cote’s expertise, knowledge and professional attitude and a lot of help from prayers. Not only has he helped Bob, but he has gotten me through those worrisome times and managed to calm me down with his pleasant personality and great bedside manner. We highly recommend him.

After my family physician found traces of blood in my urine he immediately referred me to Virginia Urology. I had an appointment in two days. When that Dr. found a tumor she immediately set me up with Dr. Cote for removal of the tumor and a biopsy. That happened quickly, within a few days. At the time of the surgery, Dr. Cote explained the procedure in an understandable manner and even a little humor which put me at ease. It all went well and fortunately it was a benign tumor. I would recommend him!

Dr. Cote is not only very nice, he is an excellent urologist and surgeon. He really helped my father in 1993, when he had prostate cancer; and, he also was great help to me recently when I had complex cysts on my kidneys. He is also currently treating my brother for the same genetic problem. First rate, in every way, I recommend him highly.
