Dr. Eneniziaogochukwu Okocha, MD

It is unfortunate that so often doctors have their ableism reinforced by their expertise. Dr. Okocha is not one of those doctors. I saw Dr. Okocha in January of 2024 to get a second opinion. Instead of gaslighting and dismissing my concerns, Dr. Okocha listened, did immediate research in front of me to confirm their understanding, and offered me several options in a clear and professional manner. I immediately switched PCPs to them

I was rushed by this doctor and was told I have 8 minutes left . I had consultation for weight loss and i have nohealth issues other than sinus,was asked for allot’s of lab work which I said I had it done earlier do I showed it to her but still said couldn’t prescribe anything because she needed my blood pressure done which I’m not sure how would I get it done over the phone not everyone has blood pressure machines,A1c ,weighing machine to show her how much I weight for her to prescribe any medication .I really couldn’t understand what is purpose of online appointment if she literally wants me to do as a walk in appointment and she wanted me to schedule another appointment which she told me I will have to pay again for her review everything to see if I’m even eligible to receive any prescription and plush care states get weight loss prescriptions online which is untrue and while I was still speaking to her she hung up on me … I’m very disappointed with this appointment and service

This doctor is on the level of taking video appointments... and after being sick for 3 weeks I was desperate enough to be on this level as well. I've had a pretty bad cold, and it hasn't left for about 22-23 days. Lots of congestion, bad cough off and on, the works. My husband same. I told this doctor I was a former smoker. And I may have downplayed my symptoms to some degree because of my style of communication. Her company doesn't want her to issue antibiotics, so she told me my cold was likely related to my previous smoking and that she couldn't prescribe my anything. I told her my husband has never smoked and that he also has had the same bad cold for weeks. She told me that she can't comment on someone not on the video call, that it sounds like I know more about this issue than she does, and then she hung up on me. I understood that she was offended as she is a doctor -- but of course I know more about the situation than she does after a 5 minute video call. What a service.
