Dr. V detected my cancer and immediately called me with the results. He saved my life during one of the worst times in healthcare history- the pandemic. I have the utmost confidence in his acumen and attentiveness. He is a very good doctor.

Good doctor
Dr. V gets to the point quickly and didn't make me feel judged for asking what I was afraid were stupid questions. I can see how communication his style would not work well for everyone but I appreciate being able to get in and out of the office quickly for simple issues, and I know that sometimes he runs behind because he does take more time when needed and that time has to come from somewhere!

Dr. V has a problem when it comes to patients having opinions about their heath care and wanting to change medications that no longer take care of your problem. He refuses to listen to the insurance company when they send letters in reference to treatments they have recommended, and tells you that you don't have certain issues and then increases your medication for the issue he says you don't technically have. He's very unprofessional and I would never refer anyone to him not even my worst enemy.

He would blow off my health issues and say I was just too anxious. I’m concerned that he may miss someone’s serious medical condition due to a bias towards a mental health explanation.

He’s a horrible doctor. He has no bed side manner. He is short with you when you ask questions and have concerns. I have physical issues that I need medication for and was supposedly sent on Feb 6th, now the 16th and wasn’t called in. He acts like he is annoyed by his patients, the questions asked. He’s just not a good doctor

The word is EXPENSIVE. I had to change primary care physicians due to insurance. I went in for a wellness visit. I have arthritis in both knees. It is not bad enough for knee replacement. Just under $700 later I have x-rays ordered by the Dr that prove that I have arthritis in both knees and that they are not bad enough for knee replacement. The x-rays are not covered by the wellness visit. I have been told that I could call my insurance or a special secret number that the Barnes x-ray dept. has but does not tell you about with the billing code (which DR did not provide) and verify the coverage. Providing the billing code is not Dr's problem nor is the cost of an unnecessary test that Dr ordered not his concern. He just ordered me to go to one of two places that same day to get the x-rays performed. One does have to wonder if he gets a referral fee. I was told that Dr would not have provided the code even if I had known to ask as it is not his problem.

I had the very exact experience. He ordered so much blood work. Did not even get the 1 I needed. Told me he was going to take me off all of my meds and change them. And spent the most of the appt telling my I needed a psychiatrist and refused to fill my current meds. Will never recommend, further more I’ll warn people of the disaster you speak of.

Dr. Venkatesan is very caring and prompt! I was hesitant about switching to a male pcp, but he was very professional and thorough. I do not see a derm but am young with moles and he did a skin check for me. He also made a recommendation about switching birth controls that my new wash u gyn 100% agreed with. He’s a fantastic pcp!!

Dr. V has been my physician for 11 years and I wouldn't think about seeing anyone else. He's very attentive and caring. I'm actually surprised that he doesn't have higher reviews. He has helped me through some very serious issues with my health. My husband has also been his patient for many years and feels the same way.

I have been a patient of Dr.V for more than 10 years. He always listened to my concerns, engaged with me in discussing how I felt, treatment options, and was accepting of my choice. Spring of 2015, abruptly he changed. He no longer listens to you, even when you are answering his questions, to the point of rudeness. Exams are cursory; preferring expensive lab work. He decides for you how much pain/illness you have. The mutually beneficial doctor-patient relationship is gone. (4.5 stars to 1 star)

Very frustrating doctor. Poor bedside manner, subjected me to unnecessary blood testing (cost: over $900). Then he wouldn't write me medication i needed, despite having my file from my previous doctor. This guy is a disaster. Creepy, to be honest.

Dr. Venkatesan does not explain tests or the treatment indicated or take the time to answer questions. I ask questions and he ignores me. He ordered a cholesterol med for me, then a few months later asked, who put you on that, you don't need that. He apparently forgot HE had ordered it! Then a year later, when my triglycerides were high he said, why aren't you taking cholesterol medicine? He had taken me off of it!! I would not recommend him for any of my friends or family.
