Dr. Emily Wang, MD

We are an adoptive family with 6 children ages 5-13. We happened to get Dr. Wang once and immediately made her our primary pediatrician. She is very thorough and respectful of parental input. We have some special needs which she handles compassionately. Because 2 of our children are still in foster status, she often has to complete forms. She does so happily and promptly. She provides referrals when needed and even recommended a nutritionist for our overweight son. We trust her judgment.

My 16 year old was seen by Dr. Wand for possible strep thoat. She was given the rapid strep test, which was negative, however the test has a high false negative risk. The throat culture came back four days later positive. My daughter was then put on a standard amoxicillin dose. This delay in appropriate treatment lead my daughter to end up with a secondary infection (the Scarlet Fever rash over her entire body.) This was quite painful, as was the steriods she was then placed on.
