Dr. Emilie Stickley, MD

I thought I liked Dr. Stickley. In my initial vist, she was thorough, wholistic and personable. I did not care for her office staff, though the receptionist is freindly, the nurse is not friendly, personable, and appears to not be committed to her work. I called for 3 weeks trying to get test results. The nurse never called me back. I had to leave a message with the receptionist, only to be told that I had to come in for my results. so, I had to make an appointment, which put me 5 1/2 weeks beyond when I took the tests. This is not acceptable. Even it the results are not good, a patient has a right to receive more expeditious results. When I finally saw Dr Stickley, I shared my concern and he was defnsive, in denial, and stated that she had other patients to attend to. She asked me, should she neglect them? If she is that busy, she should not continue to be taking new patients. She actually told me that she was discharging me from her car because I told her my concerns.

Dr. Stickley has provided myself and my two adult daughters with outstanding medical care. She is very compassionate and highly knowledgeable. I greatly appreciate the way she takes her time to explain things and go over treatment options. I very highly recommend Dr. Stickley as a physician.

Pregnancy care was ok. Postpartum care was HORRIBLE! Tried to talk to her about PPD and she was unsympathetic, basically said it wasn't her problem! She was absolutely rude and treated me like garbage while I was seeking help during a mental health crisis. I will NEVER RECOMMEND HER TO ANYONE!

Excellent Care! Professional and provides answers to questions, makes you feel comfortable and is understanding. Very knowledgeable and listens.

Excellent OBGYN! I am so thankful to have found Dr. Stickley! She provided the most exceptional care for me during my pregnancy. I am sure I would have needed a c-section if it wasn't for her patience and encouragement during my long labor! She is the absolute best! I love her office staff, they always remember me, and the details about my medical care. They are very busy because Dr. Stickley is quickly becoming extremely popular, but they are working hard to provide the best care possible for this community!

The women in this office have been telling me that somebody would call me back in a day or two, for 3 weeks now. I’m not sure what’s going on at their office or why nobody ever calls me back, but there are other doctors in Hilo who don’t treat patients so badly like they do at Dr. Stickley’s office. Don’t waste your valuable time with these people.
