Dr. Balbastro is deeply committed to her patients, demonstrating exceptional bedside manner! She explains conditions and treatments well, ensuring clarity without sugar-coating. Dr. B takes the time to answer all questions thoroughly and provides necessary follow up care.

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I went to Balbastro and got second opinion from MD Anderson doctor that agreed with the treatment plan she prescribed. I continued on with Balbastro dispute my misgivings. I didn’t want to delay my treatment. Besides that, she had a fantastic nurse practitioner that I could go to. After being treated by Balbastro for over a year now for breast cancer, I went for a four month check up. I told her that my gynecologist had performed a biopsy on my uterus the day before due to endometrial cells showing up in a routine test. I relayed to Balbastro that my gynecologist had said the objective was to check for precancerous cells. Balbastro replied “0h no, no, no! She was just being nice. She is looking for cancer”. What a horrible way to respond to a cancer survivor. This is not the first horrendous thing she has said to me. I have tolerated repeated offenses. Her remark yesterday was the last straw. She’s retiring but not soon enough for me!

Would not recommend her!

The emotional and mental anguish that my grandmother suffered because of Dr Balbastro’s egregious care is astounding. My 79 year old grandmother with dementia was diagnosed with stage IV metastatic colon cancer after being admitted to the hospital for pneumonia. Dr Balbastro entered her room when there wasn’t a family member present and delivered the devastating diagnosis to her. The family had made it very clear to the hospital that we did not want our grandmother to hear the results of the tests without family members present. There is no excuse for such poor discretion and lack of bedside manner. Words cannot convey my disappointment and shock. This act was negligent to say the least. No one deserves to be told such devastating news while they’re alone, much less an elderly patient with dementia. I would leave a zero star review if that were an option.

UNPROFESSIONAL!! Relayed information to her about a patient's increasingly aggressive behavior and asked that the source be kept confidential. What does she do at the next appointment? Wait for it..... She tells the patient who and what. Plus, in my opinion, has extremely poor bedside manner. Do yourself a favor and find a different physician!!

Awesome doctor

She didn't want to do any tests because she said my clots were provoked. I asked her to do tests and we found some issues. I'm going to get another doctor to help me for now on. Very unpleasant experience.

She maybe better off selling used cars. Her passive/aggressive personality combined with a phony compassion makes for a horrible doctor. FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR TO HELP YOU.
