Dr. Elizabeth Meyering, MD

Terrible saw her 2x in 7 months. Saw a nurse throughout chemo. I was told what my next step works be. There was no discussion. I fired her!!

I thank the two out of three reviewers who validate my own experience. Every other member of my team through surgery and treatment were awesome, and they were the ones who saw a need to radiation fibrosis physical therapy massage, a compression bra, a referral back to my radiation oncologist for symptoms, but never Dr. Meyering. I also felt like my questions during the course of treatment were being judged, and was validated when she (accidentally?) told me about someone who had sent her a question and she thought the person was crazy. Um, that was most likely me, wow.

Dr Meyering is set in her beliefs and refuses to listen to any differing point of view. Tends to be condescending and intimidating if any natural or herbal remedy is suggested, even when there is documented lab results that prove their efficacy in my particular case. Also have negative side effects from the oral chemo that she insists is not the cause, when documented clinic trials have proved otherwise. She decides what she thinks and will not even consider another point of view.

Wonderful physician and person...took her time with me and all my questions and concerns were answered. Simi Valley has lost a true asset!

I've chosen not to have surgery. My doctor doesn't listen. The only thing she is willing to do is what she wants. Since I won't do what she wants she won't even do me the courtesy of giving me a referral to palliative care. Cancer is big business and I refuse to lose everything I own or go into massive debt to support it. I want to live my life with cancer until I can no longer support myself then I want to die. It's my decicion. In the mean time I want palliative care. I take the tamoxifen a d I've vowed to take it every day. It hurts me and sends me into a rage daily. I can't sleep my shoulders and hips feel like they e been ripped out of their sockets and the lymphedema in my right arm appears to have caused a cluster of ganglion cysts to grow down the tendon of my wrist. I'm exhausted. She insists it's not from the tamoxifen, not from my cancer or lymphedema. I just want palliative care but a week after my begging request and all I go was a social worker call. She agreed I'm sane.
