She's a nice doctor but makes diagnostic mistakes.
She seems to constantly miss things or gets them wrong.I'd used Dr. Elizabeth McKay for over five years, but because she constantly missed cancers that were easy to see I found another dermatologist. She misdiagnosed three conditions that my new dermatologist found and corrected. ALL THREE WERE CANCER. She completely missed a leg (thigh) lesion--instead calling it 'nothing' for years--while it got worse and even started bleeding (that's when I found a new doctor, and it was correctly diagnosed by my new dermatologist). I turned out to be Carcinoma and I had to undergo a few treatments to resolve the cancer, because the incision to remove it was so deep. She even missed a melanoma that had been there for years. She's very 'sweet' like other reviewers say, but when it comes to getting it 'right'--you might want to find someone else who will get it right.

Best Dermatologist on the Treasure Coast
I have been a patient at McKay Dermatology for 7 years and I highly recommend this practice. Dr. McKay is the ultimate professional while being a great listener and very caring. You are given time at every appointment and skin checks are done thoroughly. She has done three MOHS surgeries on me and you can barely see a scar. The entire office is run by the kindest people you have ever met. This is a wonderful dermatology practice!

Disappointing and Lack of Care
I had to change insurance this year and had to find a new dermatologist which brought me to McKay dermatology. Things started off great. When I called to make the appointment, the receptionist was very friendly and welcoming. She scheduled me with the NP Michelle. I have been getting skin checks for the past 19 years I’ve lived here in Florida, so I know exactly what to expect. Unfortunately, this is the most incompetent skin check I’ve ever had. I might as well have not even had the appointment and saved my time and co-pay. Michelle was very unfriendly, arrogant, incompetent, and just unpleasant. She walked into the room with an attitude. She barely even looked at me. Never bothered to look at my head, my fingers, or my toes. She never even asked me about my current medication that every other dermatologist addressed. And I’m talking about the prescriptions and diagnosis from my past dermatologist. The woman barely even acknowledged me being there. Furthermore, she spoke down to me

My mother was "treated" for a leg wound that came back positive for MRSA. When she had a bad reaction to the medication prescribed by Dr. McKay's office, they refused to return our calls. When we went in, no doctor or nurse would speak to us. This is a "spa"....a very poor excuse for a medical facility. Avoid this place if you have a serious problem.

Dr McKay took her time to explain everything in detail. Her office staff is kind and helpful. The office is very clean and comfortable. My waiting time was minimal. I tell everyone I know to go to her office if they are tired of being a number. You can tell she loves what's she does and has compassion for her patients.

Excellent. She and her entire staff are caring, gentle and reassuring. Dr. McKay is extremely thorough and detailed, finding even the tiniest dermatalogical issue and treating it as conservatively as possible before it can grow to become a problem. I would highly recommend Dr. McKay.
