Dr. Elie Schochet, MD

My experience with Dr Schochet was excellent. He performed a procedure that made my life 1000 times easier. I’m so glad I found him.

Always go with your gut. We should have never let this man operate on our Father who is now fighting for his life. We immediately transferred him to a different hospital in less than 24 hrs after his failed surgery. He is overconfident and ill equipped.

I do not recommend Dr Elie Scochet nor his mediocre secretary who is frankly, a practice breaker. Their inability to deal with simple tasks frustrates a high number of patients and potential patients.

I have to say he is the best surgeon I’ve ever met. I’ve had a handful of surgeries. Yes he is very busy but if you’re gonna need a surgery this doctor is more than worth waiting for. I do not think there are many surgeons that are at his level. And I’ve known a few and had surgery from one that most definitely were not!

I have called weekly for three weeks to make an appointment and have yet to get a callback. Their messages said they are going through upgrades and will wait until February. I would go somewhere else--terrible follow-up.

Wife went in with a chronic fissure issue and was told that she needed to have a procedure done. We were told that they called the insurance company for approval. My wife called a week and a half later and they never returned her call. I called the following week and my call went unreturned as well. My wife just called the insurance company to see what was going on and was told that this office never called for the approval. I had to give them one star because zero is not an option.

I made appointment with Dr Schochet for stomach issues for March 14. Dr Schochet recommended an Endoscopy and colonoscopy. I made an appointment and received a call from the office manager Jen that I had to reschedule procedure because the doctor had an emergency. I was rescheduled for March 28 to have the procedure done. After procedure an appointment was scheduled for two weeks on April 14 to receive results. I received a call again from the office manager Jen that I had to reschedule because the doctor had an emergency. I was rescheduled for April 26. Again I received a call saying I had to reschedule because Dr Schochet's mother passed away. I told Jen that I was leaving for a two week cruise and needed to know my results so that I wouldn't eat or drink anything to upset my stomach depending on my results. She said the doctor took all of his March patients records and she had no access to them. I said can I make an appointment to see him when I return and she said that won't be necessary I'll have the doctor call you when he returns on monday. I reminded her I'll be on a cruise if he can just leave a message. As of today May 21,I haven't heard back from anyone in that office. Two months is unacceptable to wait for results in my opinion. Dr Schochet should be aware that there is a serious problem with his office staff. While I was very pleased with Dr Schoket, something is seriously wrong with his office staff. I have talked to several friends who are patients of Dr Schoket and all are experiencing the same problems with office staff and considering using another doctor.

It took four weeks for anyone in the office to respond to multiple phone calls and e-mails to schedule a colonoscopy. Once Jenny the scheduler contacted me she was extremely rude. I should have taken this as a sign to find another MD. Dr. Schochet did the colonoscopy and left the surgery center immediately after without giving me results. I contacted his office two days later to request the results. Weeks later, no one has returned my calls or e-mails again and I have no idea what my results are. Avoid this MD and his staff !!!

I saw Dr Schochet the end of 2021. I’m due for a colonoscopy and EGD summer 2022. He told me I did not need another office visit and to schedule the procedures with his office summer 2022. I have left 3 voice messages, 1 email and went into the office to schedule the procedures. His office staff has not responded to any of my requests to schedule. The staff is very unprofessional which is a direct reflection on Dr Schochet.

Dr. S is a caring individual and a knowledgeable Dr. in his field. He's supported by a great staff doing a great job especially Todd who seems to run the place.

Went in for test and to schedule a colonoscopy. Office never called back to give results or to schedule procedure. Finally i called months later to schedule, it never happened. Totally unprofessional and unacceptable!

Made a surgical error and he and the hospital never made it right

I never got to go for a visit because the rude, condescending receptionist canceled my appointment yesterday by voicemail and text. I took off from work for this appointment.Then I received numeous messages via e-mail and text stating I had an appointment today, When I called the office, the nasty receptiomist said she was expecting my call and denied canceling my appointment when I have proof in text and voicemail. I have never dealt with a more disorganized office and I think the doctor should find someone more competent. The receptionist is so nasty that I would never go to this office. I wish I could speak to the doctor himself. He should know what is going on. Patients are treated by this woman as if they are insignificant ad senile.

Dr Schochet and his professional office staff are wonderful. I wish my other specialists were as caring as him and his team.

I saw Dr. Schochet for the first time yesterday. What a wonderful surprise. This Doctor listens, hears you, and makes sure all your questions are answered. My case is kinda complicated, and has stressed me out for years, but I feel a lot better after seeing this Doctor. In one appointment, I learned more from Dr. Schochet on improving my health and quality of life than the 11 years I've been in treatment for GI problems. I'm tracking my progress and looking forward to seeing Dr. Schochet again.

Affable, well-versed and a high clinical acumen. The trifecta in a physician as far as I am concerned.

Dr. Schochet is the best. When I first started seeing him for colonoscopies his office was in Fort Lauderdale. His office is now down in Aventura. It's worth the drive. He is very personable, listens to what you have to say, and asks appropriate questions. He has a keen sense of humor which puts you at ease in his office and on the day of the procedure. He is also more aware than most of the prevalence of a certain type of colorectal cancer that is prevalent within the gay male community and routinely tests for any abnormalities, unlike other doctor's who seem afraid to bring up the subject. Dr. Schochet cares about your back side!!!!

Another colorectal doctor had done a hemorrhoidectomy on me and after 4 months I was still in severe pain and living a nightmare. Dr. Schochet was incredibly thorough and very consistent in his advice and guidance through several visits. I was literally seeing 4 other experienced Doctors simultaneously given situation I was in but finally decided to perform my 2nd surgery with Schochet at month 5 post original operation. I left that second operation with ZERO pain (couldn't believe it) and fully recovered within 3 weeks after my operation with Schochet. My nightmare was finally over. I would highly recommend Dr. Schochet. I was literally seeing 5 of the top specialist in Miami for Colorectal an he by far was the best. He is highly knowledgeable, highly experienced, very caring, very direct & transparent and highly skilled. Couldn't ask for a better ColoRectal surgeon.

Dr. Schocket has been really terrific. His communication and bedside manner is stellar. We are very fortunate to have found a terrific surgeon.

My experience with Dr.Schochet was an extremely positive one. I recently had THD hemorrhoid surgery, which almost no one looks forward to! He eased my fears, explaining the procedure in detail and provided specific pre and post op instructions. These were followed and I’m happy to say I experienced no discomfort or complications. I highly recommend Dr. Schochet.
