My mother went to her for radiation (in conjuction with chemo). As an adult daughter, you want to protect your parents, especially as they age and face scary diagnoses and medical issues. From the port placement for chemo, to the radiation, she faced many complications during her cancer treatment. The day I saw how black her skin was from radiation, my heart broke. Due to the pain incurred during radiation, she could not complete the entire treatment. Chemo was stopped as well, as she developed Jugular vein thrombosis and was at high risk. At my mother's last radiation treatment, Dr. Nedea commented "well why did you even bother, if you weren't going to finish?". Not sure where these doctors lose their bedside manner. My mother's PCP and oncologist couldn't believe the comment was made. Thank you for making my mother feel less than, during the worst time in her life!
