VA needs to do better than Dr Shehata
Terrible. As others have stated, communication is horrible. Weeks go by without a response via the secure portal site and when he does respond, it is generally one word. I get it, he is busy, but one word answers are not sufficient and cause more emails back and forth for clarification. A waste of time and delays in care. I am not suggesting anything about other VA doctors however, there is likely a good reason he is a VA doctor, he would go broke in private practice and be fired at a public hospital. I asked for and was granted a new PMC.

Disgraceful
I never understood why some veterans didn't go get the medical help they needed when it was so readily available until I met ehab shehata. Horrible communication. You are a name on a list to him and not someone who needs medical care. If you do not do his job for him it will not get done and the list goes on, Veterans if you get assigned Shehata as your PCM do yourself a favor and immediately request someone else. The state medical board should take a closer look into this "doctor".

Non-responsive to patient requests. Let me leave an appt with BP of 190/110 and simply placed a false BP reading in my record to cover himself. Unable to recommend as he is non-responsive to the needs of a complex patient. Is office is so cramped he can't accommodate my walker which places me at risk of an accidental fall. He also has a fear of dogs that has gone untreated so I was unable to bring in my Service Dog to my appointments and had to arrange for boarding at my own expense. Avoid.
