Idk where these people are coming from with comments that Dr. Toby didn't listen to them or didn't explain things. I live 60 miles away in Topeka, KS. While we have qualified hand surgeons here, I wanted to go top notch. That's why I chose Dr. Tobey for the two procedures I've had done at The University of Kansas Medical Center. It's widely regarded as one of the best in the Country. He always took time to listen to my problems, offer solutions both surgical and non. In both cases I chose the surgical route. He looked in on me before and after surgery and let me know how things went. At all my followups, he was the one who saw me, not a P.A. He's a stand-up guy and extremely talented surgeon. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I felt that I was not taken seriously since I am a teenage female. I have had many injuries in the past. My body won't respond to treatment like it should, it only gets worse. I'm not your typical by the books patient ask anyone my body's not normal but Dr. Toby does not understand that. I'm getting frustrated as daily tasks are nearly impossible but he keeps saying it's getting better. Dr. Toby is a great surgeon but doesn't always understand that every patient is different and the treatment that works for most may not work for others.

I can't say enough about Dr. Toby. He takes time to get to the root of the issue and explains everything thoroughly so you understand and know what to expect. Very caring, intelligent. Skilled surgeon.

Dr Toby is the best hand surgeon you can find. I saw other doctors and all they wanted to do was fuse my finger. Not Dr Toby, he was able to replace my finger joint and my hand works with no problems. If you want the best, see Dr. Toby.

Can't say enough about Dr. Toby. He was very conservative in treating my 12yo gymnast -- trying everything BUT surgery for as long as we could. When nothing worked, he made time for her to get elbow surgery in before school started and was incredibly compassionate and reassuring to us as parents. 1 year later her elbow is better than ever! His PA, Lindsay, is excellent too!

Dr. Toby although very nice and takes plenty of time did not take my assessment and corcerns in to account .
