Dr. Edward Rico, MD

Several times my doctor from Marshall and Terre Haute did a referral for me to see Dr. Rico. Not only do they not return phone calls, but then they put in the chart that they have been calling. Then they argue with you, even though you can prove no call, no message. This has gone on since October 2022. My doctor got me in to see and endocrinologist in Champagn and then he wanted to be able to help and correspond w/ someone local so tried again to get an appt with Rico and his secretary, Karen said they had to evaluate my case! Outrageous considering i have a diagnosed endocrine illness for over 30 years. The staff are rude and incompetent. He never returns calls. Now my situation is worse and again the internal medicine team wanted to send me to this Dr. and his rude staff who would rather argue about phone calls than schedule my appt that they are not qualified to turn away.

It was my pleasure to get to meet Dr. Rico what an awesome man he is my wife was his patient many years ago so glad that I was able to be a part of him today. In my opinion he is number one in his field.

Dr Ricco was very nice and is trying to help me with my insulin resistance. I trust that he will get to the bottom of this. He is a very smart doctor. And I trust him totally. Also does my thyroid .

He takes his time during appointments . Listens and explains questions and concerns. I drive 2 hours to see Dr. Rico and well worth every minute.

Dr. Rico saved my life! I came into the emergency room with a terrible AFIB episode. Dr. Rico was the doc that ordered the TSH tests wihich determined the cause. I spent a week in the hospital with Thyrotoxicosis. I truly believe if it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be here today!

As a life long diabetic, I hope one day every endocrinologist is as educated, empathetic, and compassionate as he has been to me. I have friends and family who see him as well, and they agree. He and his staff are always so friendly and willing to listen to any concern I have regarding my diabetes or any other health needs, including my mental health. They are full of resources, for not just endocrinology needs, but financial assistance, other specialists for other medical ailments even mental health. I love Dr Rico, and will always be grateful for his wonderful and loving care.

I am a returning patient. Approximately 9 years ago Dr. Rico moved away. I was heartbroken. It’s so hard to find a doctor who genuinely cares and listens intently. I am happy to say I can see him again. I drive from Terre Haute to see Dr. Rico. He and his staff are truly an asset. Dr. Rico is what a doctor should be. He goes above and beyond to ensure that you understand and all of your questions are answered. When calling his office, you actually get to speak to his staff. It’s not a call center 1000 miles away. Dr Rico is just an incredible doctor.
