Too aggressive without enough data to recommend a very invasive surgery. Received a 2nd opinion which turned out to show no hysterectomy was needed.

Establishing a new team of Follow up cancer care doctors since our move was scary but Dr Grendys was highly recommended and lived up to every word. He is very personable, friendly and most of all attentive. His background is astounding!! Very very happy to be his patient!

Very scary time in my life. Out of town, long way from home and referred to Dr. Grendys from another wonderful physician, Dr. Gauta, who I was given the name of in an emergency situation while vacationing in Naples, Florida. I was diagnosed with cancer and had surgery and spent some time recovering before returning home for chemo and radiation from a doctor recommended by Dr. Grendys at Northwestern Hospital inChicago. All in all, Dr. Grendys and his staff made a very frightening experience very throughly explained and bearable. I can never thank them all enough.

Dr. Grendys was patient, kind, funny, friendly, and fiercely protective of my feelings (my gyn nurse practitioner erroneously and irresponsibly told me I had a cancer I do not have, prior to doing a biopsy). He was sensitive, uplifting and caring in a field that, I'm sure, sees its share of sad and depressing moments. The only drawback was trying to schedule my initial appointment. I called 5 times, finally received a call back, was given the runaround, told my referral didn't arrive (twice), etc. Person was very nice, but not very efficient or organized.

My mother went to Dr. Grendys and it was absolutely the right choice. She needed a hysterectomy and during surgery he discovered she had an advanced ovarian tumor. Because of his training in oncology he was able to identify and remove all cancerous growth he could find. It's been over a year since this surgery and 6 months since her last dose of chemo and my mom is doing great! I am grateful she was able to be under Dr. Grendys' care and only wish she had known to go to his practice earlier!

He talked forever about his dog immediately after telling me I had cancer & he disregarded our surgery plans to 'save my fertility' (but leave me with cancer) bc he & his wife had infertility problems. Kathy is the type of person who berates & intimidates you for asking simple questions about treatment. She shouldn't be allowed around people. Grendys touched my knees multiple times & repeatedly told me 'don't have too many drinks and go home with a guy at blue martini', after I was diagnosed.
