Dr Greany was at Bellevue Hospital and arranged for me to stay there until I was able to get into a rehab for my disease of addiction. I will never forget him and credit him for helping me to get my life together.

MEDICINE turns into a BUSINESS when MDs are rushed
Dr. Ed Greaney was a superb doctor in internal medicine. Many of we patients were loyal to him despite the myriad of problems with the support staffers on many occasions (trying to reach the doctor, getting messages to him, getting test results, getting appointments & billing. The staffers kept changing & right about the time Dr. Greaney was leaving the staffers in the lobby were more congenial - but required patients to fill out the SAME info on a laptop to expediteal...MEDICINE w/CAREMOUNT MEDICAL GROUP became a BUSINESS instead of letting great doctors practice medicine. Other of my doctors also left Caremount before & after Dr. Ed Greaney. Best wishes to one of the nicest, most professional & congenial doctors I have ever had...& NO NEW DOCTOR YET - 6 months & looking....BTW, the doctors & nurses I know @ NYU Medical Center were also devastated that Dr. Ed Greaney was leaving... :(

I've been seeing Dr. Greaney for several years. He is so caring and knowledgeable. He prescribed medication for a a symptom that has changed my life. Although he is professional he speaks to you like an old friend. I am sad he is leaving his practice in NYC, though I wish him happiness and health and will miss him dearly.

I had been a satisfied patient of Dr. Greaney for may years, until recently. I called him early on a Monday morning for an emergency appointment because I was in severe pain, pain throughout my torso, front and back. I could not get a phone call back from him or his staff. Finally late Tuesday I was told he was fully booked Wednesday, but could see me a week later. I protested, they "squeezed" me in, and I had a perfunctory exam. Misdiagnosed with "rheumatoid arthritis". No x-ray. On Friday I went to an urgent care facility, and was correctly diagnosed with shingles, a week later. Now I have post-herpetic neuralgia with a chance it may last for months, even years. I should have been seen earlier by Dr. Greaney, had a proper exam, and a proper diagnosis. I may suffer for months or years because of negligence and misdiagnosis. I left his practice.

He is friendly, smart, and capable but seems to have taken on too many patients. His secretary is always busy (if you can reach her) with phones constantly ringing and appointments are hard to come by. Be careful if he gives you a referral because they are usually within the Murray Hill Medical group. I have found better specialists outside the group.

I recently started seeing Dr. Greaney due to a rather complex medical history, and I can genuinely say that I trust him completely with my life and am so grateful to have found him in NYC. He is extremely precise, knowledgeable and thorough in his diagnosis and is one of the most compassionate doctors I've ever met. (Fortunately, he also treats my younger brother.) In short, he's absolutely brilliant and I can not recommend him highly enough! His staff is also very friendly and kind in person.
