Waited almost three hours while he visited with clinical trial sponsors and then went to lunch. His staff repeatedly told me that he would be in to see me in 15 minutes. What a lie…it was rude and inconsiderate of my time. When I finally met with him I had questions but he could not seem less interested. He even started scrolling through his phone! He seemed annoyed that I had questions after waiting that long! I recommend that you don’t waste your time with him. Never again!

Patient and Thorough
I've been seeing Dr. Garon for about a year now for NSCLC. He takes the time to answer my questions, he doesn't make me feel rushed, I follow up with questions via the portal and when he doesn't respond his NP follows up.

Doesn't take patients seriously
We had a horrible experience with Dr Garon. He doesn't take patient complaints seriously, even when they are indicative of serious complications. He prescribed my father a steroid over the phone because he suspected pneumonitis though my father insisted that the pain was different (he had pneumonitis multiple times and knew something was wrong). He ended up in cardiac ICU with congestive heart failure. Dr Garon also insisted continuing chemotherapy though my father's white blood cell count was well, well, well below the threshold needed to be safe, giving him false hope. Lastly, my father messaged him and tried to talk to him repeatedly about his persistent low hemo/hemat numbers. He was blown off. Again, he ended up in ICU, this time on a ventilator. He ended up having treatment induced AML, a side effect of his original chemo. This is a horrible example of the saying "You had one job." He's a hematology oncologist who missed leukemia. Give me a break.

So far, my first two visits with Dr. Garon re my new diagnosis of stage IV NSCLC have left my husband and I feeling highly confident that he is focused on finding the most effective treatment for me. Both consultations involved a thorough explanation of my issues and he was interested and extremely responsive to my questions and concerns. Dr. Garon spent as much time as it took to make sure we left with all the information that was available. Never felt rushed. His team is caring and responsive, as well.

Horrible bedside manner, and horrible communicator. He prescribed his medication for my husband and that was basically it. He was extremely hard to get ahold of, even after my husband was admitted to ICU. There was very little follow up and I never heard from him after my husband passed away.

Dr. Garon is a lung cancer specialist that my dad was referred to after he found out he could no longer handle chemotherapy. He and his staff have been the most professional and responsive medical team we have seen so far. Due to underlying kidney problems, we have not been able to begin treatment. Dr. Garon sent ten emails in the span of a week to convince a research doctor to admit my dad into a new clinical trial. When you are fighting for your life, you need a doctor who will help you fight.

Terrible doctor who doesn't care about you. He offered no help for me and gave me no hope. He shows up to your bedside for a few minutes and does nothing. He's a waste of human life. I'm especially angry of how I chose him to waste my time.

Dr. Garon is knowledgeable and his staff is friendly and attentive. Unlike other doctors, he is usually punctual in seeing us during office visits. The one downside is he is only in the office on Mondays and Thursday so sometimes scheduling can be difficult but this is likely due to his involvement with various cancer research and teaching. His nurse practitioner is excellent and very responsive to all inquiries.
