Dr. Edward Barksdale Jr, MD

Dr. Barksdale is fabulous. When our son was six months old, he needed hernia surgery. Dr. Barksdale was kind, caring and intelligent. He answered all our questions at our pre-surgery appointment and helped put us at ease during a scary time. He even drew pictures to show us what was going on. He is a very skilled surgeon. We were able to leave very soon after surgery because our son was doing so well. The day after surgery, our son was his usual happy self! We love Dr. Barksdale. He is by far the best doctor we ever have seen. I recommend him to anyone who needs a surgeon for their child.

Dr. Barksdale saved my life Christmas morning 1991. Without this excellent doctor I would not be here today. I would highly recommend this fine doctor.

I took our newborn to see Dr Barksdale about an issue with her umbilical / belly button. He is so down to earth, easy to talk to and treats you so much like a person and not a number. He was very through and explained the steps in wonderful detail. Even sending me home with a sketch and notes! His bedside manner with babies is fabulous. We shared we are both parents of 4 kids and you can tell he loves children!

Kind, caring and respectful

Dr. Barksdale is an excellent physician. He performed a surgery on my daughter for pulmonary sequestration at 12 months old. She's doing great and recovered in less than a week! He helped us through all our concerns compassionately and humbly, always validating and encouraging. He also went above and beyond to call and check in on us when he was out of state for a vacation. He also took time to get to know our other children, and explained the surgery our daughter went through. He is great!

Dr. Barksdale epitomizes everything a doctor should aspire to be. He is kind, compassionate, (extremely) competent, and humble. He recognizes that every one of his patients means everything to their families and acts accordingly. Perhaps most impressive is that despite his hectic schedule he takes all the time necessary to listen, explain and follow up personally. The health care profession needs more like him!

Unresponsive to my sons needs. Sent to the wrong dr's office for tests, was provided incorrect brace, would not return calls for a month. Great job!

Dr Barksdale has been seeing my infant from the day she was born. He has made our family very comfortable and at ease with her medical problem and all the necessary procedures and follow ups. He is hands down one of, if not the best, providers I have ever encountered. My family looks forward to seeing him and his staff. Just absolutely the best experience with him.
