Totally wrong date diagnosis.
Told my husband the lump in his neck was from dehydration. One year later he told her it got bigger and she said oh you have to go see another Doctor Who ended up being a cancer doctor. After many biopsies, CAT scans, and PET scans we found out, yes he has cancer and it spread. The different doctors he saw concluded that if this was caught one year ago when he told her about it, he would have been all cured. Now he’s going through chemo therapy. Would anybody ever trust this woman who can’t make a correct diagnosis, she’s bad news.

My healthy mother was experiencing shortness of breath, unexplained weight loss, and general fatigue last yr and was brushed off by Dr. Mendoza who told her that is was stress induced. My mom insisted to the Dr that she had no stress but Dr. Mendoza basically ignored her. Well, we found her new doctors and today, one yr later, she was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. Shame on you Dr. Mendoza for ignoring my mother and brushing off her symptoms.

Attentive and Thorough
Dr. Extra-Mendoza was wonderful. At my first visit, she had clearly taken the time to go through all my records, she paid attention and listened, and was very professional and friendly. After a couple of other doctors who could barely be bothered to ask me a question, she was a breath of fresh air. I have no hesitation in recommending her.

Always takes the time necessary to do a thorough exam, listen to my concerns and answer questions! Yes, it's usually a long wait in the office, but that's because she takes the time that each patient requires. She often misses her own lunch break so she can see everyone!

After being her patient for many years it became very difficult to get in to see her in a timely manner. When in for appointment it was a very long wait to get in a room, and then another long wait before she came in. I was unable to see either of the other 2 doctors in her absence. Finally found a better PCP.

I have found Dr. Edita-Extra Mendoza to very competent and thorough in her exams and follow-up. The office is usually very busy. Afternoon appts are generally delayed because she does spend time with pts answering their questions. I have had a good response to requested information that has been sent in on the portal.

I can't rate the doctor because I haven't actually seen her. I am looking for a new PCP & phoned the office to make an appt. It took some time to get through, & I was then told I had to drive 1.5 hrs round-trip to get new patient paperwork before setting an appt. I asked them to mail the paperwork to my home, which they did. However, I am now supposed to drive to the office or mail back the paperwork, at which time they will phone me to make an appt. In the times of COVid & with my experience of working in the medical field over 30 years, this is a first for me. Very inefficient, as I should be able to make an appt & deliver paperwork at the time of my visit, as well as copy of driver's lic/insur card. After all, in "normal times," we fill out the paperwork while sitting in the waiting area on our first visit. She might be a great doctor, but I will keep looking, as their making things difficult this early on is a bad signs of things to come when dealing with the office staff.

The staff in this office is the worst. I placed a call a few days ago and the phone rang 31 times and then went to music while I waited another 2 1/2 minutes. I finally hung up after not speaking to anyone. I called back and a voice answered and immediately placed me on hold and after a couple of minutes I hung up and called my insurance co. to see if they could help me. I just received notice from my pharmacy that they have reached out to my doctor several times to get information on a prescription refill and they have had no response.

I went in for a physical which is covered by my insurance. However later I received a bill for an office visit. When I called to ask why I was being charged I was told it was coded as an office visit since I asked a question. Aren't you supposed to ask questions during a physical? I called the office and spoke with her medical assistant and explained the situation. She told me she'd take the issue to her team and get back to me. No one ever called me. I called the office 4 times over a month's span and repeated the conversation since my concerns were never noted in my file. Each time I was told she'd contact her team and get back to me. No one ever contacted me. I am very upset about the incompetence and unresponsiveness of her staff. It makes me question their skills regarding important medical issues.

She was my mother's primary physician. She did not catch her cancer and instead just gave her pain meds. The day after my mother had her pet scan (not ordered by this doctor), we called Extra-Mendoza's office and left a message. She never returned the call and my mother passed away a week later. I would seriously not recommend this doctor to anyone. I have no words and am grieving so yes, this may be a harsh review, but to not call your patient back who was just diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in several areas? This goes to show you that this doctor was reading the handwriting on the wall and noting that she would no longer have this patient's payments to cash in on chose not to reach out to a patient that had been in her care for several years. This is shameful.

Although I liked Dr. Edita Etra Mendoza, I found her staff to be the most incompetent I have ever encountered. They continually make numerous mistakes which cause unnecessary delays in getting what you need as a patient and also create a ton of aggravation. I complained to the office manager, and instead of them taking it as an opportunity to look at why the staff makes so many errors, they chose to fire me as a patient. Save yourself a lot of aggravation and stay away from Dr. Mendoza and stay away from Valley Internal Medicine.

Thorough. She reviewed my chart to see if there was anything that needed to be discussed or labs done, though I had gone in for a specific purpose. She takes the time needed to be thorough, which may entail subsequent patients waiting. I appreciate this because I know she would do the same for me if I needed extra care.

Although it can be difficult to get a first appointment (she's too busy!), when you do, she takes the time to talk with you and discuss any concerns you may have, and she's very good at diagnosing problems. I'm very glad to have found her. She also responds fairly promptly if you send her a message via their online system.
