100% helpful on my case every appt. A1 team!
His meticulous, friendly team appropriately backs up Dr Shapiro’s detailed analysis of patient’s case & discernment of any changes since last appt. Tightly focused testing & full, prompt followup comms via portal I really like, & his team always msg’s or calls asap to relay scrips & other info as soon as they have it. Amazing he can be so thorough, as popular as he is, but when you’re there, you see why. Surgery ~20 yrs ago was a great decision - if on the fence, I’d say don’t wait. “What matters is the skill of the surgeon” is true, I think. The string rapport he has with patients helps a lot, too.

Not available after surgical complications
I had surgery by Dr. Shapiro at the end of January . By March 3 IHad been to the Peidmont Newnan hospital 3 times for urology emergencies. Unable to contact or communicate with Dr. Shapiro. Only option provided was to see one of his nurses. I was told the next available appt for a returning patient was April 24th.

Our PCP found a mass on my husbands bladder on Tuesday. She got us in to see Dr. Shapiro on Thursday and he operated on Friday. He was very concerned and walked us through what to expect. We are still on this journey with Dr. Shapiro as our guide and we are very pleased!

Awful. They promise same or next day appointments when calling their hotline. More like next week. Absolutely thumbs down for delivering on promises made to patients in ER and on their website.

Ignored Patient – Jun 25, 2021

My PCP’s nurse obtained my appt w/Dr Shapiro the day after I saw PCP. Had successful, life changing surgery 10yrs ago by a partner of Dr S’s, so already liked GA Urology, have several friends who likewise appreciate them. Having done the homework, I’m confident Dr S. asked every pertinent question, actively *listening* &thoroughly answering mine, so tests & treatment he orders will get this issue resolved. Good front desk, quick, effective phone/email communication. No complaints whatsoever.

I would not recommend this Doctor. He seemed too busy to answer my questions. He did not listen to my concerns, and was terrible when I tried to call for follow up questions and requests.
