After years of pain management drs I like many others became addicted to the pain meds. Once this happens in your brain the meds begin to not work. I saw Dr. Ligham and his Assistant I believe her name was Maryanne not sure. Finally I hit rock bottom with no clear path to follow. I made my call to Dr. Ligham was honest with him, he never judged and as I begged him to refer me to a short term rehab I was weaned off all narcotics and about a month later was a new woman with no more physical pain! My body felt new again! The date was 2011 and never looked back, he stepped in did the right thing and today I remain grateful for having met him and for getting me a bed in a very short detox of 4 days.( I was out of med insurance) My only advice b honest w your Dr and if he or she is any good they will lead u in the right direction! Hope u r well Dr. Ligham

Dr. Ligham treated me years ago and was unyielding in his heroic efforts to make me pain free. He tried everything -- non-aggressive and aggressive --with patience and compassion.

You can find my longer review of Dr. Ligham on Google, but the short story is: I was in a lot of pain, my legs and back couldn't hold me up, and my mobility had become ever more restricted over the course of years. Dr. Ligham was the first doctor, among many excellent and compassionate practioners, to accurately recognize what was happening in my body. He facilitated two urgent referrals, and helped me through the emotional process of preparing for a difficult surgery. 14 hours after surgery, I took my first steps on strong, steady legs, with feet that are relaxed and stable. 8 days after surgery I transitioned from a walker to crutches and am now able to walk up and down stairs. It's looking like I'm going to be able to walk without a mobility aid in a couple months. Dr. Ligham has been gentle, compassionate, observant, responsive, and dedicated. I will never be able to thank Dr. Ligham enough for his perception and care. He will always be a hero to my friends and family and me.

Before I had even sat down Dr. Ligham said "Why are you even here?". I started to explain about my upcoming spine surgery and the need for pain management through the recovery. He interrupted me telling me he reviewed my MRI and it was completely normal. Immediately this puts me in a position to defend my diagnosis made by one of the top neurosurgeons in the country. Funny... I didn't see a neurosurgery degree hanging in his office. He raised his voice and yelled at me and asked if I wanted to even continue with the appointment. I hesitated and said I wasn't sure and he stood up, asked me to leave, and told me to go find another doctor. He had completely judged me before he even saw me. The office asks you to fill out 15 pages of paperwork before your appointment. Not once do they ask you for a diagnosis or why you are being referred to the clinic. He's accepting new patients if anyone's up for being judged...

Just started seeing him, and I am very disappointed in his office. I have left several messages with his assistant and she has never has the courtesy to returns calls. I will be looking for a new group.

He doesn't treat patients as individuals. very apathetic toward someone in pain. After all he's an anesthesiologist with a cert in pain management , BTW you can get that cert by taking a 6 week class. If you have real chronic pain don't go to him.

Coldhearted doctor who complains to ME! Must bring my hubby to appointments because of his disparaging comments. Will not listen to my complaints, lacks total knowledge of my pain diagnosis, refuses to answer my emails or phone calls, treats me like a drug abuser and will NOT adjust my necessary meds to meet my needs which help me LIVE! Since pain is so great, my BP is over 200. Doesn't listen, doesn't follow-up, doesn't care! Mean and nasty. BEWARE!

I'm a savvy nurse nearing the end of my 42 year rigorous career. Dr. Ligham has a wonderful bedside manner & above average knowledge base. Yet, he allows his patients to participate in decisions/options. He worked endlessly to get to the route of my intractable pain. Finally, after no success with pharmacological management, epidurals, radio frequency ablations, and stem cell injections Dr. Ligham took me on as a project. He sent me for a L-S MRI. Then, we learned I was dropped in the OR!

Dr. Ligham was unapologetic about misdiagnosing me, and failed to disclose important negative side effects of surgery he was pressuring me to have. I have less than zero confidence in this doctor's ability to diagnose and treat patients.
