Always late, impersonal, scammed me out of $110
Telehealth
Tran would show up late LITERALLY to almost every session. He would regularly forget important pieces of information leading to having to repeat myself several times. Would give unhelpful generic guidance. Demeanor seemed like he did not care, always seemed bored/uninterested. The thing I cannot forgive on a DECENCY level is that the one and only day I showed up 15 minutes late to one of our sessions during my workday and how he handled it. Keep in mind, I work in a dynamic IT environment so sometimes things with customers and users come up. Tran canceled the session early and charged me the $110 late fee without so much as a phone call/email. His company Happier Living also tried to 'accidentally' charge me $110 twice because Tran overrode the automatic no show charge so he could collect his money as quickly as possible. Thankfully, I was able to cancel my card before the 2nd charge hit. There's a reason this guy has so much availability. He's awful and is here for your $, not you.

Where is Dr Duy Tran?
This doctor scares me because he is not truthful of his location. It seems he actively manages this site which lists him with HMG Physicians in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Dr. Tran also purports to be and markets himself as a local psychiatrist in San Jose, California. At one point Dr. Tran claimed Dallas, Texas as his home base. Which is it Doctor?

Do Not Trust
untrustworthy through and through. Everything this doctor had online and through our meeting was misleading to believe that Dr Tran was in California. At the end of our first session he dropped the bombshell, he's out of state and can't prescribe meds.

I had taken my husband to several doctors . None of them could help. Lots of testing and then sent away. Feeling hopeless, we decided to try once more. So glad we found Dr. Tran . Finally someone that will listen and care. Wish we had seen Dr. Tran years earlier .

First off, I strongly empathize with the other negative review (the person who said they've been treated for depression for decades yet Tran simply declared them "not depressed" after 10 minutes). Tran's cold attitude invoked actual nausea during the appointment and for hours afterwards. If you are like me (suffering from anxiety and appreciate a bit of warmth/kindness from doctors) DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME W/ TRAN. The way he asks about your psyc history feels less like concern and more like a sterile pop quiz. Telling a stranger your mental health history is already daunting, but with Tran you get to do it in a tiny broom closet (his personal office) while he rattles off his inventory of questions replete with snippy-bravado. In summary, if you want to feel like the doctor in front of you is even mildly invested in your mental wellness, don't bother with this "professional".

I've been depressed since childhood, over 35 yrs. He talked to me for ten minutes and said I was not depressed. I went BACK to my old Psychiatrist, who dosent accept insurance. We both had a good laugh. My symptoms are so obvious, how could he not tell. Not enough experience I guess. Actually scared me. How can he not recognize major symptoms?

I would recommend Dr. Tran for anyone's psychiatric needs as he is insightful as well as extremely educated in his area of science. I had a corticosteroid induced psychosis he was understanding as well comforting to my need to overcome this horrendous psychological experience. I am getting well because of his expertise. Sincerely, Ms. Tina M Leger Clark

Treated by Dr Duy Tran in his internship in psychiatry. Very pleased with his demeanor and sincere interest in our daughter's case. She has special needs and Dr Tran worked with us very well. Got her off strong anti-psychotic drugs with his help.
