Not a great doctor, because he messed me up totally from inside and now I can't have a child.

Retained gauze in vagina after hysterectomy
I had a robotic-assisted laparoscopic hysterectomy surgery on 9/7/2022 performed by the medical team led by Dr. Dusan Perisic, MD from Department of Gynecology at St. Peter's University Hospital. Immediately after the surgery I felt discomfort at the vaginal area, a sense of fullness and swelling as if it had teared up. While staying at the hospital, I was informed by Dr. Perisic that I should not put anything inside the vagina after the surgery. The pain at the vaginal area hadn't improved since I returned home, and when I looked at it in a mirror on 9/9/2022, I noticed the opening was blocked by an unknown object. The following day when I was in the shower and touched my vaginal area, small pieces started to fall off from inside with bloody stains. I was afraid and worried so I called and spoke to the attending resident and was adviced to come to the ER right away for further evaluation. It turned out it was a retained gauze left inside of my vagina for more than 72 hrs which was sup

Great surgeon!
I was diagnosed with tumors in my ovaries and needed to have my ovaries removed. Both ultrasound and MRI indicated that my uterus was healthy, and it was important to me that my uterus not be removed. I was afraid that my uterus would be removed and decided to look for a surgeon on my own. I was looking for the word “conservative” in a review. I came across Dr. Perisic. There it was, in his reviews – “discusses options”. I read his reviews – all 5 stars, all glowing praise. Then I read that he was the director of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery – even better. During my consultation, Dr. Perisic confirmed my diagnosis, looked at my ultrasound and MRI and, when I inquired, said “I can remove your uterus if you want, I can not remove your uterus if you don’t want”. My tumors were large, and I didn’t think he’d be able to remove them laparoscopically, but true to his word, he was able to do the surgery laparoscopically, and did not remove my uterus. I'm more than happy.

I would absolutely recommend Dr. Perisic to anyone who needs any kind of surgery. He is knowledgeable, thorough, took his time to explain everything in detail in a concise and simple way. Day of surgery he stopped in to walk me through the procedure and thoroughly explained what I should expect when I wake up - everything was spot on. I was able to move around shortly after surgery without any complications. This surgeon has hands of a God. The office staff is very friendly and professional, overall great experience.
