Dr. Dudley Burwell, MD

Dudley has a fantastic demeanor. Takes time to explain radiologic finds and surg procedure needing to be done. However, female clerical staff leaves much to be desired. After over 3 weeks post total hip replacement, I'm continuing to have above average surg pain which I feel needs to be addressed. Experience is 180 degrees different from my other hip surg several years ago. Finally, after numerous times being put on hold, recept goes, I do not sched appts. If the scheduler has an opening, she will call you back. Not my fault that she's there occupying a desk. We PAY their salaries, we did NOT ask for our pain! Had I treated patients in this manner during my 30 yr career, I'd have been replaced early on. I'd not recommend him due to his unprofessional front desk staff.

There really is not much one can say about Doctor Burwell except he is the best orthopedic surgeon on the Gulf Coast! He is skilled, caring and an absolute beautiful human being! Everyone of his employees is the same way! We love him!

I have had nothing but a good experience from Dr. Burwell, and his staff. They take the time needed to take care of you and are very caring of your problems. I would recommend him thoroughly.

Horrible experience (see detailed review via Memorial Orth). This doctor doesn’t care about patients. I had allergic reaction to injection they gave 12/20 called. I couldn’t move right leg. 12/23 called.. I got a return call 1/8/20., finally got appt 1/23.,Burwell was not even there. Nikki ?? mgr says she’d handle it. She called to tell me they can see me because Burwell is only doing surgeries. ?????, yeah? Go figure, I need surgery. They can’t make up their mind., yesterday after I was told To find another doctor.. I get 2/6 & 2/7/20 reminder calls for future appointment. This is the most confusing, unorganized, unprofessional physician’s office I have ever encountered.. and I’ve had Breast Cancer, chemo w/ 6 year pill, hysterectomy, double mastectomy & reconstruct, lumpectomy, gallbladder removal, 2 knee surgeries, a spinal fusion.... never in my life have I encountered such incompetence in my life. I feel for any one that uses this doctor. Don’t forget your copay????

i had surgery on my hand due to bent fingers that i could not straighten the results were great. I can now put my hand flat on table which is great. I recommend dr. burwell very highly.

Very dedicated dr. Have had both hips replaced by him. Great bedside Manor listens to your questions and answers them so you can understand them. High recommend him.

Great surgeon. He did a left total hip replacement and I had no complications at all. Hard to get an appointment but that just goes to show you that he is in high demand. His scheduling nurse Angela, also great. She answered every call and every question I had. All my FMLA and Short term disability paperwork was filed in a very timely manner and approved even before the surgery so all my stress was alleviated and I was able to focus on my recovery.
