Consult
I am an old CICU nurse that jumped into IT many years ago and was referred to Dr Nguyen for a consult ( for something that showed up on my Calicum Score CT scan). I grew up in healthcare as my dad was a surgeon and my mom was a nurse and I ,as a nurse , have worked with many physicians and Cardiothoracic surgeons over the course of my lifetime and career. It is difficult being on the “other side of the fence “ but I can tell you Dr Nguyen is one of the best. I can’t say enough nice things about the office staff and Dr Nguyen. Everyone that I came in contact with was amazing and patient focused. I was anxious as you can imagine, and Dr Nguyen immediately put me at ease , we discussed the situation, talked about the go forward plan etc. He took the time to review and explain my cardiac issue , review my CT scan, go over the calculations and answer all of my questions. I know that I am in great and capable hands with Dr Nguyen !

Great experience with difficult surgery
Dr. Nguyen is an incredible surgeon. He performed an emergency quadruple bypass on me in 2016, and today I am flourishing. He was patient and kind, and his bedside manner was excellent. I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing a cardiac surgeon. He is clinically impressive, but also a great human and pleasure to work with.

If There Were Six Stars He Would Deserve Them
This past December I experienced chest pains and slight shortness of breath. I was transferred to TriStar Centennial for a Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) of my left, center, and right coronary arteries (90, 70, and 50 percent blocked) that were not good candidates for stents because of location and length of blockage. I was assigned to Dr. Nguyen (pronounced win). He was very professional, reassuring, and explanatory in his conversations before and after surgery. He did not have any hint of arrogance that you often see in some highly technically competent surgeons (he does heart transplants as well as CABGs), but is very pleasant to talk with, and explains some complex processes in ways that you and your spouse can easily understand. The surgery went exceptionally well and he stopped by many times to check on me. Overall, the care I received from him from a technical competence, bedside manner, and follow-up standpoint have been excellent and definitely a six star experience.

I approached Dr. Nguyen for a second opinion regarding the triple bypass surgery my cardiologist had recommended. He first conferred with me by phone from my hospital bed and subsequently reviewed my records with a cardiac interventionist colleague. Their recommendation was that a single stent was sufficient treatment and this was a stent procedure that was not available from my cardiologist's practice's team.
