I would like to acknowledge Dr. Wilson. He served as the palliative care physician for my mother during her hospitalization. Unfortunately my mom was very sick from metastatic colon cancer. He showed incredible empathy and compassion for my mom and our family. His bedside communication was the best I have ever seen (and my family and I work in healthcare). He reminded me of what it means to serve other people in healthcare. He really truly cares. He is by far and away the best physician there and far outpaces his colleagues. I am deeply grateful for him making an incredibly difficult situation (with both my mom’s diagnosis and the difficulty we had with other “physicians” there) much more bearable. We are very grateful for his hard work and more importantly his compassion for human life.

I don’t have Enough words to sum up Dr. Wilson and then imprint he left on me, I knew his voice from years ago at work but found myself as a pt.stuck in a very scary place in my head from a med called scopolamine, no one knew what was wrong with me, I couldn’t talk right think right, Scared to my core! Dr Wilson jumped in when he didn’t have to, he came everyday, a familiar voice, a very calming voice, once I understood where I was , and he understood why I had been so scared, he went above and beyond to make sure I knew if ever I didn’t have a voice to use in a event that it was put in writing, we talked about each option and why I wanted that, he made me feel more empowered knowing that my voice would be heard in any future event that could happen, I did not walk out with out my voice on record! He did not have to get involved, but he did. I now understand that a medication put me in that state, but with a history of high risk to SCA, thanks to him if I can’t speak my voice is there!
