Very professional and thorough.
Office staff was efficient and easy to work with. Everything was professional and well explained. I appreciated Dr. Trate's time after my procedures to explain everything and provide me a full report for my records.

I have had two colonoscopies performed by Dr. Trate. The day I went for my pre-op visit the ladies in the office/scheduling were very efficient. The day of my procedure they were ready for me at my appointment time. Everyone kept me informed and explained in detail what they were going to do and gave me a time frame. Dr. Trate explained to me his findings and answered all of my questions. I would not even consider going anywhere else! 100% Awesome!

Listen to the negative reviews here and other sites. I should have. His practice is a factory. You can't meet Dr. Trate until seconds before being put under for the procedure. If you doubt me, just try. He doesn't make an effort to face you even then. The staff I got shuffled through during the preceding office visits were exceedingly rushed. No treatment was suggested in spite of ongoing issues. This practice seems structured to keep patients lined up in the colonoscopy/EDG pipeline for $$$.

My husband had an appointment for a colonoscopy at 1:00. Finally, at 2:45 he was called back. I understand that sometimes waiting is inevitable for medical appointments, but after prolonged fasting and prep, waiting for almost 2 hours is unacceptable.

I have never left a negative review of any small business on the internet in my entire life, but my experience at the office of Dr. Trate warrants the effort. His office staff have repeatedly made mistakes with EVERYTHING that I have asked them to do. I have only seen him right before he put me to sleep for an EDG where it turns out, they did not perform the correct tests because no one wrote my symptoms down accurately. I have never had a more negative experience with a physician's office.

Performed a routine colonoscopy and removed several polyps. One, however, was so well hidden and inaccessible that it was probably missed by previous colonoscopies/endoscopists and will require further intervention. I am grateful to have had a gastroenterologist who performed a complete and thorough exam and was also willing to spend a great deal of extra time obtaining biopsies of a very difficult polyp. In reading other reviews, a low grade for poor phone service is not fair or helpful.

I was told and confirmed by 3 independent employees of this practice that my colonoscopy was a screening, covered under insurance and it wouldn't cost me anything extra. After I had the procedure done and drugged up, they hit me with a bill. That's fraud in my book and I would highly advise to avoid this practice!

It was a colonoscopy which of course is no fun. But procedure was well done, explained, and a pleasant experience when it was over. My wife has also seen Dr. Trate for the same procedure and she was quite happy with him as well.

My wife was seen by this Dr. for stomach issues that have been going on for months. She was seen twice, once for the initial visit, and the second was for an upper endoscopy. She was contacted by their nurse that the Dr. would see her in three years. Never resolved the issue! Had one test, and be told to see you in three years. I would like to ask the Dr. to take a flame and hold it against his throat, and say "I want to see you in three year!" Poor excuse for a Dr. let alone a specialist!

Excellent experience all the way around. From the beginning of making an appointment, the initial visit with very qualified and friendly staff, to the day of my procedure and after. I couldn't ask for a better experience. I went to him because of all the recommendations I've received from my friends, who thinks this guy is great. I must agree.

I had an excellent experience. Although it is a very busy practice, they still have smiles on their faces and treat the patients with compassion. The wait time was not an issue as their was a critically ill patient who needed a little extra time before I could see Dr. Trate. If I am ever in a situation where I need extra time with him, I know that he will take very good care of me. Dr. Trate is a very caring, compassionate doctor and his facility is nice and clean.

Unfortunately, after a 45 minute wait, I walked out of the session after this office would not adhere to patient wishes regarding charting. As most of you know, insurance companies make treatment authorizations based on information provided. They also share this information across the insurance portal. Unless you are a savvy patient advocate for yourself, your confidential information is not kept just with the medical staff and can later lead to denials in claims. Office was unhelpful & a waste.

Not only is Dr. Trate unhelpful and unwelcoming, every PA I've dealt with here is practically the same way. Getting appointments is impossible, and they are too fast to prescribe you some drug, take your money, and tell you to come back later and hope the treatment helps. They aren't personable and don't care about healing your underlying condition, they just write another scrip and call it a day. I've had countless bad experiences with this GI and I really wish there were other options in town.

Dr. Trate is one of the worst doctors I have encountered. During my first visit, I was scheduled with a nurse practitioner, who proceeded to give me inappropriate advice. The first time I met with Dr. Trate was moments before the endoscopy. He not only did not make me feel welcome to ask questions, but was unfamiliar with my medical condition and unaware that I had previously had an endoscopy. He also did not conduct the tests he had agreed to. The office overbooks and wait times are long.

Horrible I had to wait 4 months to see Dr and I saw his PA , not him When I came for appt. I paid for co-pay but they wanted financial records. They would not treat me (unless I wanted to pay 325.00 cash for appt) unless I gave them my social security number.. not the last four digits... my entire number. I regret that I was intimidated enough to do that. I won't be back.
