Well, I live with pain daily, due to osteoporosis. disc herniations and cyst aggravating my spine. Some days are okay. Others are just not fun. I try to manage with as few meds as possible. But I know when they are needed. They can be lifesavers to us; I do not judge others’ pain issues. I mention all this because I’ve reached a point where I need additional help with back pain; I have no hesitancy in again treating with Dr. Maxey. He has given me injections in the past. He has helped manage my pain with medications. I do exercise as well. I do try to live my life w/the pain. Though Dr. Maxey is my pain management physician, I do not see him routinely and regularly. Frankly, I see him when I need help or further intervention . Dr. Maxey has been patient and understanding with me. He explains procedures and possibilities. He is kind-hearted and knowledgeable. Sooo, as I have once again reached the point of intolerance with my pain levels, I will be contacting him shortly!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND - #1 in DFW Dr. Maxey goes above and beyond in everything he does. He is focused on his patients and customizing their care. I love his countless options for treatment including alternative treatments, short and long term solutions. You will not find a better doctor with more cutting edge technology, options and solutions. He is invested personally in YOU AS A PERSON and your plan of treatment. Once I had a procedure denied, he advocated for me extensively. Another time, I was in the hospital following back surgery and he fielded a call to help the hospitalist manage my pain (on his day off). If you’re looking for THE ONE look no further. He’s given me back a quality of life and I am proud to have him as my doctor and care provider. He is a board certified anesthesiologist with extensive knowledge and training in countless specialties. His new office is clean, professional, positive and something I look forward to each visit. He listens to you and is likable.

This guy is a fraud. I had a spinal stimulator trial put in, was doing better. He worked with Medicare to fraudulently charge Medicare the 6000.0 they used to get for these trials, knowing they weren’t going to perform the surgery ultimately. I could go on, but the whole thing will make you sick. Beware. Fraud

I have been a patient of Dr. Douglas MAXEY going on over four (4) years now. He's that doctor who LISTENS to his patients! Extremely KNOWLEDGEABLE, keeping up with the latest pain management treatments. Pain can be invisible to everyone but the patient. Dr. MAXEY is AWARE that patients can have incredible pain, but not present any outward visible symptoms. DR. MAXEY is who I'd RECOMMEND to anyone for their pain management needs.

I have been seeing Dr Maxey for 5 consecutive years and on my first visit, after a much needed referral, he prescribed me pain medication. He never once judged me or talked me into any type of shot as previous reviews have claimed. Dr Maxey cares about his patients and would recommend to anyone with pain to see him. My life isn't pain free but is with less pain than it was before seeing him. He has tried many different methods to get me pain free but due to my conditions, I am unable to be pain free under any doctors care. He truly cares about his patients and tries everything he can to get you pain free.

I started seeing Dr Maxey 5 years ago and he has NEVER been judgemental. When my husband called to make an appointment to see him, he was informed by the receptionist Dr Maxey will only see patients based on a referral and why that referral is needed. My husband speaks well of him too and his genuine concern for me and my pain needs. Dr Maxey has a terrific bed-side manner and recommend him too anyone with pain to see him. The one negative review is without merit.

I was referred to Dr. Maxey when my previous pain management Dr. was no longer permitted to write prescriptions for pain medications. Upon trying to make an appointment with Dr. Maxey, I was informed he would not accept me as a patient. He did not know what type of insurance I have, so clearly, insurance was not the problem. The Dr. had never met me and would not provide me with a reason why he would not see me. He had no clue as to what my current and future goals are considering my pain management treatment and medications. Dr. Maxey comes across as very judgmental in my situation. Annika on his staff was very helpful and friendly.

Dr Douglas Maxey is very professional, caring, confident, I have recommended Dr Maxey to everyone I know and don’t know. “saying if you want great medical care and not treated like money is the only thing that matter, then Dr. Douglas Maxey is you Doctor" Dr Maxey helped me by going out of his way to give me excellent Medical care and treatment, his office set up a MRI then his office for treatment. Then I was on my feet again.

Dr Maxey was very professional and still very personable. He has relieved my back pain by at least 75% and I am able to walk further and stand longer than I have been able to for at least 5 years. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for pain relief.

I've been a patient of Dr. Douglas Maxey for over two years now. I had never considered going to a pain management physician, I was just suffering day in and day out. My physician said there wasn't much she could do to assist, but that Dr. Maxey would be up on all the latest pain medications, their side effects, what is needed and what isn't. He wants to make sure what he prescribes is helping you and doesn't over-prescribe medications that may interfere with your lifestyle. He's awesome.

I am a Proffesional , that has to travel bi-weekly for work, without the MAGNIFICENT care that I have received from Dr. Maxey.....I woud not be able to continue working, or even caring for my family, on a daily basis. He has addressed upper & lower back problems with me, as well as knee issues. He has been caring for me for around the last 4 years. I recommend him highly!

Dr. Maxey is a wonderful and caring Doctor. After a failed back surgery, and terrible post operative care by my neurosurgeon, I was referred to Dr. Maxey by my Primary Care Physician. He has succeeded in managing my severe back pain. Pain is tolerable now, where before I was in tears daily. It is not often that you find a physician that is caring, easy to communicate with, and never rushed to move on to the next patient. Excellent bedside manor! I am so thankful I was referred to him!

I've been dealing w/ back pain since '12. I found Dr. Maxey in '15. He has helped manage pain with meds, even when I was unwilling to try injections, he continued my care until I got to where I needed it. When that didn't work, he referred me to a surgeon who CAN and will be helping me with Dr. Maxey as the head of my care team. He's compassionate, caring,& takes the time to HEAR you. You won't find better! His new office staff is excellent & his nurse is still the best!

After more than two decades of requiring a Pain Management specialist for a complex, chronic neuropathy, I have seen my share of doctors. I can say, without exception, Dr. Douglas Maxey is among the best. I tell friends, neighbors and strangers about him whenever pain management comes up. He has a great bedside manor, respects his patients and our conditions. He understands the nature of pain management and is a wonderful resource in the treatment of my disease.
