Dr. Douglas Hutcheson, MD

This was my first visit with Dr. Hutcheson and I felt comfortable with my visit, exam and discussions with him. I am recommending him to a friend who also needs his expertise.

Dr. Hutcheson and his staff put me at ease. They we’re very attentive and explained what to expect in the procedure. He made sure my questions were answered and what follow up care was required. He was very personable and friendly while being professional. I would definitely recommend the Virginia Women’s Center and Dr. Hutcheson specifically.

When I moved into Mechanicsville in November 2020 -- pandemic time -- I was experiencing a number of alarming symptoms with bleeding. Dr Hutcheson took care of the situation immediately, did further testing until we got to the cause of the distress. He and his office have also kept track of my mammography and annual appointments. I cannot tell you how relieved I am to have found a provider that I trust, in a well-conceived facility that makes follow-up and compliance simple. For someone like me, when you are new to an area and hardly know anyone yet it would have been very stressful to find the expertise of Dr Hutchenson and the full service that VWC provides. They care for my adult daughter, too.

What stood out to me was this doctors ability to have great bed side manner and still be honest and informative. I felt well taken care of and heard for the first time in a long time.

Dr Hutcheson is a wonderful doctor! He is very knowledgeable and has no difficulties answering all of my questions. He’s also very kind and patient. It’s really difficult to find a good doctor these days and I’m so thankful that I found Dr Hutcheson! I also take my teenage daughter to him and he’s great with her! He makes us feel very comfortable, seen, and heard! If you want great care and to be treated like a valued patient, then definitely see Dr. Hutcheson! You’ll be glad you did!!!

Dr. Hutcheson has been my doctor for a few years now and I really enjoy being one of his patients! He listens and explains things thoroughly so you are always aware of what’s going on. He is very personable and professional. I also love his staff of nurses!

Talks 'at' you without discussing the issue and options with you. Charged an unrealistic amount for one problem visit which did not resolve anything. I had to end up going to my PCP a few days later to get any relief for my issue. Staff left a lot to be desired with throwing out a urine sample and inaccurately passing along messages. Would not recommend this provider.
