Dr. Douglas Hilbert, MD

I made an appointment for a variety of reasons but mainly for an acute medical I have. The appointment went normal for the most part, except for the disparaging attitude towards people that didn’t want to take the COVID vaccine. My medical condition was discussed around the last fifteen to twenty minutes of the appointment and a prescription was to be called into my local pharmacy. About a week after the appointment no prescription was called in, so I called the office. It took three calls to get anyone, they do not call you back. I finally was able to speak with someone who knew something and she stated the PA would call me back. The PA texted, which is OK. According to her there was no mention of the medical condition or the prescription was in my notes for the appointment. I had to call again and have them look at my previous records {from other medical professionals} to finally get a prescription. They also refer out tests that were never discussed at the appointment.

Their web site advertised "concierge services" "24/7 access to the physician: Patients can contact their doctor at any time, including weekends and holidays." June 27 appt they required I sign the concierge contract BEFORE I met the Dr. but assured me I'd have a signed copy. Its not the doctor you can reach, its his assistant who would give me her email, or text. By Friday night June 30th I had nothing. No copy of contract, signed or unsigned No test results No email or text for assistant. I called and got voicemail, left a message. I emailed from the web site. I emailed again from the web site. I texted their phone number. I said each time "I want to cancel the contract, since the doctor hasn't signed it yet, I don't expect a problem". No reply to email, text, phone calls. July 2, I called my credit card company to dispute the concierge contract charge of $150. It is July 16, I have No answer to email, text, phone calls. No test results But they continue to charge my card.

I've been a very happy patient of Dr. Douglas Hilbert for over 5 years, and find him to be one of the finest internal medicine physicians I've ever known. Dr. Hilbert's concierge medical program continues to provide his patient's with the time for an individual treatment approach versus the typical high-volume patient practice model. This concierge patient-centric model has significantly improved my treatment with very notable results, and translates well in treating younger patients as well as older. Dr. Hilbert has been rated in San Antonio Magazine in the Top Doctors and righty deserving of the accolades. I highly recommend Dr. Douglas Hilbert for your primary care/internal medicine treatment needs.

Dr. Hilbert is very attentive and caring. He helped me with my Thyroid and GI problems. He is also is helping me manage my weight. He pays attention to everything and does and amazing job as a physician.

Office staff is friendly and efficient. Appointment times are honored and kept. Dr. Hilbert is attentive. He listens to your concerns & answers your questions. Obviously very knowledgeable.

Great experience as a patient. I barely waited to be helped when I checked in. The staff and Dr. Hilbert were all very friendly and helpful. I especially loved how Dr. Hilbert really took his time to explain my conditions with me as well as my treatment options. I had a great visit and the doctor’s demeanor has really put me at ease so I highly recommend this clinic.

Relatively short waiting time to get into see doctor; I was impressed that he had already reviewed my medication list and had opinions ready to suggest after I answered his questions about rose meds. Trying to make some dietary changes to accomplish what deleting some meds might Accomplish

I found Dr. Hilbert to be a very conscientious physician. He was not in a rush and patiently listened and answered all of my questions. He was very thorough with my new patient exam which included among other things bloodwork, an EKG, urinalysis and chest X-ray - all done at his office. His staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Dr. Hilbert suspected a problem with one of my parathyroid glands after a bone density scan revealed the beginnings of osteoporosis. I was eventually diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism and recently had surgery to correct it. Thankfully he took the time and effort to help cure the problem. Highly recommend!

Dr. Hilbert is very thorough. He asks questions and actually listens. His MA, Judy promptly returns messages and takes care of all the details. Both are smart, friendly, professional and truly care for their patients.
