Dedicated Doctor
My son transferred from Children’s straight to DrCollins. He’s taken great care of my son thus far. My son looks forward to his appointments mostly just to joke about football, Georgia VS Alabama. He’s also thorough about his treatment and explains things clearly. I’m most grateful for his words of encouragement especially when my son is sick and not feeling his best. If he’s hospitalized, he will show up providing the best treatment for that current condition. Dr Collin’s is appreciated by many of us and we are forever grateful. The only thing that I would encourage is a emailing system for Appointments and refills. There may be one in place that I just don’t know about, other than that he is awesome.

Best Sickle Cell Doctor in Atlanta!
He is so knowledgeable about SCD! He takes his time and listens to me. I have input in my treatment. Anytime l have been sick and told him my symptoms he told me what he thought and confirmed with tests and he was always right! He has a great sense of humor and always have me laughing even when l don’t feel good or I am in pain. He is the best doctor l have had in years! If you need a good hematologist for SCD look no further.

My Advice…Your Choice
This doctor is NOT going to save you even if you have a chance of surviving! If you have had a good experience with him you are unique and that’s being generous. He does not have any current knowledge of today’s treatment and if he does, he has ignored it. My Dad had Colon Cancer and died under his care. I am not oblivious to the fact that the chance of survival for this type of Cancer is low; HOWEVER, EVERYTHING this doctor prescribed was generic and made it WORSE! HE DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that could be considered a true attempt to save him. If you think you have a chance to make it and you truly want a fighting chance to survive, this doctor WILL NOT SAVE YOU!

This place looks like it was las updated in 1979, the wait time is ridiculously long. There is no Covid protocols when entering the facility and the rooms are not sanitized after each patient. If you ask me they should be shut down by the board. This Doctor is nice at first but can switch on you at the drop of a hat. I would not recommend this place because it’s not updated and he doesn’t even check your blood if needed and the facility is incapable of doing anything but taking your money. Do not see this man, he is very old and overworked.

This doctor was not astute enough to know that my mother had too many health issues to undergo chemotherapy, so the first round he gave her took her away from us! Should have listened to the doctor who said she felt she had removed all the cancer from her vagina walls instead of listening to Dr. Collins!??

I have been a patient of Dr. Collins for about 15 years. Yes, one might occasionally experience a longer wait time @ his office, but the incredible care he gives his patients more than makes up for it. Dr. Collins does not rush his patients out the door, he takes time to listen to my concerns, address them, and include me on all medical decisions instead of tellling me what he’s going to do w/out regard for my feelings.

Dr Collins is a great doctor. Knowledgeable and goes the extra mile to attend to me as a patient. He has met me in the emergency room numerous times and has been available at odd hours of the night to answer questions. However, his staff is extremely incompetent. They have lost important paperwork and they do not respond to voicemail messages. It's difficult to even get medication refills. I recommend him as a doctor but I would hesitate using his office long term due to his lazy and rude staff.

I'm "giving" him 1 star and that's being very...VERY generous. I wouldn't let him treat my dog...my dead dog. He is at best unresponsive. My very best friend is currently one of his patients. Today, she went to the ER directly across the street from his office. He would not even take the time to walk across the street to see after his own patient who was in need of emergency care. They ended up admitting her to another hospital & he shows up like he's a knight in shining armor. NOT! So over him.

He's unresponsive and very unprofessional with his patient's time. I've waited Up to two hours just to get lab results from him. I had to go off on his nasty rude receptionist and wrote her up to her supervisor Leah who never responded. Terrible staff and service.

I would highly recommend Dr. Collins. he has a great "bedside manner" and will have you laughing even when you are in pain! excellent knowledge about his field/s and willing to go the extra mile to make sure his clients' needs are met. And if that is not enough, his staff is EXCELLENT, compassionate and well informed! Even if you have to wait to be seen, it is well worth it and you understand it from the number of patients in the waiting room, and the fact that Dr. Collins does not rush!!!
