Dr. Carlan is excellent. Discusses everything with a patient. Very courteous and knowledgeable. Excellent listener. I would never choose anyone for my orthopedic needs provided by him with another physician.

Rudeness all around, office run poorly
The office was packed on a Wednesday morning at 10 am. Easily a dozen people waiting ahead of me. Was out of network. $150 copay. Doctor walked in exactly one hour late. Received 5 minutes with the doctor. Did not make eye contact once, was very skeptical of everything I said, and seems to be very jaded and condescending if you're not one of the professional athletes he's fixed. His nurse or assistant was rather pushy about my medications and why I need them, and one of his receptions is extremely rude and aggressive. He might be a great surgeon, but I'm going elsewhere because the office is run extremely poorly and the attitudes all around

The way Dr. Carlan treated me today leads me to believe these reviews are fraudulent. 1st, I sat in the waiting room for an hour after my scheduled appointment, while watching the dr laughing and talking with his staff. Once called back, I explained my injury & he said, “What do you want me to do?” He made me feel like he was not concerned , could not wait to get me out of his office, like I was a 2nd class patient, & wasting his time. As I was checking out he dismissed me like I was nobody.

Dr Carlan repaired my severe rotator cuff tear in April 2016. Almost a year later now I am stronger and more pain-free than before the injury. The recovery and physical therapy were sometimes quite painful and went on for nearly 6 months, but it was 100% worth it. Dr Carlan, his staff and the surgery center exceeded my expectations at every opportunity. Insurance and billing were hassle free too. No regrets!
