Dr. Douglas Boylan, MD

I met Dr. Boylan for the first time for a knee issue. He offered a great deal of information and a thorough exam. Will be following up with my treatment.

Dr. Boylan was very thorough in his exam and explanation. He was personable and helped to alleviate my fears of surgery.

Dr. Boylan was highly recommended by my Internal Medicine Physician who is my Primary Care Physician. I already had previous surgery with Buck County Orthopedics with Dr. Cody who was exceptional! Dr. Boylan was not part of Bucks County Orthopedics at the time. I looked at Dr. Boylan’s extremely impressive biography and was more than impressed with him being a team physician for athletes at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City and being a team physician for Bucks County School District. I have known for years I needed a total right knee replacement. So I’m now at the point I need to have it done relatively soon. He was very thorough discussing what needed to be done (e.g. which of my physicians I’ll need clearance from, etc.) He also explaining how it will affect my previous failed lumbar decompress surgery 10 years ago due to the proper realignment of my knee. While I left well informed, I will need to meet once more with questions I have that I did not realize until after.

Dr Boylan reviews your situation and then explains all options. He had a great reputation and I feel confident in his care.

Dr. Boylan explained everything that was going on with my knee. He did not try and tell me I was behind where I should be at 6 weeks. Just explained what needed to be done to catch up. A great guy!!!

The competence part goes without saying—Dr. Boylan is well-known in these parts as “the knee guy.” But he combines that with a patient, caring and upbeat demeanor that is as reassuring as it is rarer than it should be. Highly recommended.

Injured my hand wrist shoulder in a fall 6 months ago. Hand and wrist appeared to be just severe sprains and will take time to recover. I was transferred to Dr Boylan after initial diagnosis of the MRI. Knew nothing about him prior to the first visit. He had gone over my MRI, found other things that had been missed and had a surgical plan to get me fixed up. I feel like giant weigh has been lifted and I will be back on the road to recovery rather than sitting around waiting for things to heal on their own. Oh, during the visit he also found one additional spot that needs to be corrected. This man is a 15 on the scale of 1 to 10!

The surgery to replace my knee was much easier than I could have hoped. Dr. Boylan and his office were very professional, organized and kept me at ease with the procedure. My recovery was extremely fast and I have made a full recovery in less than 8 weeks. I am thankful that my other knee should never need surgery, but I would not hesitate a minute to have it done at Dr. Boylan’s office if it is ever needed.

Dr. Boylan answered all of my questions. He saw I was anxious and made me comfortable. I believed he would identify the origin of my discomfort. He did. I required additional services and his office accommodated me with short notice. Dr. Boylan allowed me to make my own decisions and provided me with facts. I left my appointment informed, confident of next steps and have been a patient for over 15 years. I recommend him and his office routinely. I am very grateful for his care.

Dr. Boylan made my first visit with him a pleasant and informative experience. At age 78, I have many issues with both shoulders. He analyzed the X-ray results giving me a detailed description and recommendations for treating the very strong and unusual pain I have experienced recently.

The speed and quality of the visit. Got there early and was seen immediately. Went to exam room got X-ray immediately. Dr. Came right in. Treatment was cautious and pain free. Results day after were effective. Best medical experience I have had in years.

Dr. Boylan was warm and caring. We discussed my expectations of my left knee not progressing as fast as I wanted six months after knee replacement. Dr. Boylan suggested further physical therapy for quad strengthening, range of motion and stair climbing.

He appropriately refers to surgery as needed & is focused on patient needs.

Dr. Boylan was very helpful. He explained the results of my MRI and then treated my symptoms. My shoulder and arm were very restricted and he helped me with my shirts after my Cortisone injection. My hand felt immediate relief and my shoulder is improving. I would highly recommend Dr. Boylan if you’re having shoulder problems.
