Life changer!
TL;DR (short version) - I was in severe pain and now I’m not thanks to Dr. Adams’ procedure in repairing my torn hip labrum. He is very kind and willing to take the time to answer questions. I would HIGHLY recommend him for your orthopedic needs! Long version: I had been dealing with a hip labral tear for 2 years until the pain became so debilitating I was planning my entire days around it. I felt like a 38 y.o. living in a 90 y.o. body; sitting hurt, standing hurt, there was no “comfortable” position. Dr. Adams was happy to take the time to explain what was wrong with my hip and what treatments were available. He explained it in layman’s terms in a non-condescending way which made me feel comfortable asking him questions. I went ahead with the out-patient surgery and I can say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. I was amazed at how quick the recovery time was after spending years in extreme pain. I only wish I’d done it sooner!Great Dr, no complaints, 5 stars

ACL reconstruction
Very encouraging and patient. Talks with me, not at me. Very present. Fully explained procedure and rehab process. Excellent surgical result and recovery. Lots of experience as a surgeon during his military career which I found reassuring. A minor issue: The practice shifted in March 2023 from Centura to a new physician group during my process. It did not affect me, though there were transition pains for the staff( new phones, software etc). By the time I was discharged from Dr Adams care, administrative things seemed to work much better.

Beware do not use for labral reconstruction/repair
Torn hip labrum was supposed to be a repair turned into a reconstruction in May 2023. Told it was a total reconstruction, however, it was only a partial reconstruction. This was only found out after requesting my records and going to a specialist in Denver. After coming out of surgery in excruciating pain and months of physical therapy the pain continued. I kept demanding a repeat MRI and my results showed a new tear. Dr. Adams wanted to go back in and do the same procedure which failed the first time. After going to a specialist who actually does circumferential labral reconstructions, it was determined I needed a revision. During the revision, it was found that all of Adams work was torn and the anchors were tearing through my hip flexor tendons. If you need a labral reconstruction do not go to Dr. Adams. He is not trained in this procedure and you will wish you had gone to a specialist. Office staff is horrible and it's impossible to speak directly to Adams even post op.

Beyond Disappointed
Dr. Adams did emergency surgery on my wife at St. Francis - so he wasn't our surgeon by choice. Looking back on the experience we would have chosen someone else for has not adequately address my wife's post-op pain. She's sitting on the couch crying and his office won't refill her meds. Isn't that a violation of the Patient Bill of Rights? "Have appropriate assessment and management of your pain."

He listened to me and treated me for an injury another doctor overlooked. He talks so I can understand what needs to be done. Listens and treats accordingly. He’s a great doctor.
