I am 53 years old and she was my family doctor. I dreaded every visit to her because she was very degrading about the fact that I was an overweight child. I only ate what my mother made which of course in the south was fried foods and lots of gravy. I didn't know about cutting when I was young but after every appointment I would go home and take my fingernails and dig them into my wrists over and over again until they not only drew blood but enough blood to need bandaids to stop the bleeding. This woman shaped me into the no confident person that I was until I got therapy and took control of my life.
