Dr. Donald Tecca, MD

If I could give zero stars, I would. I took my elderly mother in to be seen and checked for influenza or pneumonia, she was pretty sick. Shannon (NP) is the one who saw us. Her bedside manner is awful, right away I knew that she just didn't even want to be there. Can you believe she listened to my 73 year old mother's lungs with a stethoscope on TOP of her clothing and jacket!? Mind you, we were there with concerns of her breathing and possible pneumonia. She was awfully blaise and just told us what she "thought" but really couldn't do any testing that would help direct us in a timely manner. I told her that I need to bring home some answers to my sister, who is a bit more headstrong than I...her answer was, "bring it on." ? At that point I just insisted on chest xrays and medicine and walked out. I couldn't even look at her for any longer. Stay away from this place.

I was going to Dr. Tecca for a year with extreme gastric issues, I was vomiting constantly during my sophomore year of college, it was painful and persistent. Dr. Tecca took some basic samples but when I requested a referral to a gastroenterologist (referral was required by my insurance at the time) - HE REFUSED. His notes indicate he doesn’t think I need a specialist and that I should keep visiting his office for additional stool tests. Even after a year. He is a generalist! Why would you put a young student through all these hoops!? The ONLY way I got the care I needed from a gastroenterologist was when my vomiting was so out of control and I was so limp, I had to visit the ER. They were shocked that I hadn’t been referred to a specialist once they listened to me describe my path. I still have the notes that say Dr. Tecca thought nothing was wrong with me, and it took me too long to finally get my Crohn’s disease diagnosis, and get on the regular therapeutic medication I need.

Both my wife & I have been seeing Dr. Tecca for close to 20 years. He is extremely knowledgeable on a wide variety of medical issues. If he doesn't no a certain condition he will tell you so and will then see if he can find the answer or another who can. He never rushes one, answers any and all questions in everyday language. If you should call with an emergency he will do all he can to fit you in ASAP. He is not only our physician but our friend as well.

I love Dr. Tecca. He's the best doctor I ever had. Has been my doctor for 12 years. He's compassionate, kind, extremely knowledgeable and provides excellent care. I wouldn't go to anyone else.

Even though you may have chosen this doctor to be your primary care physician, good luck ever actually seeing him. He has been my doctor for over a year and the only reason he saw me was because I was his patient at Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital & He had promised me to do a steroid injection into my foot. He is a nice guy but he is in a big hurry. He has two RNs working under him-Alonso Chan (jerk) & Shannon Davis (sweetheart). This rating is only for Dr. Tecca.

Thoughtful, intelligent , compassionate &has true skills as a physician. I highly recommend Dr. Tecca.

Dr. Tecca is another condescending, uninformed, and incompetent HMO doctor. Seeing him was a huge waste of my time. He wasn't even intetested in my health problem; I was just another dumb HMO patient to him that he needed to process as quickly as possible. There was no care for my health at all. Truly despicable! By the way, the office was dirty and outdated. I should have taken that as a red flag and left before seeing this terrible doctor! Live and learn.
