Life saving
I was introduced to Dr Robertson having had a heart attack and being admitted to BSA in Amarillo. I immediately respected Dr Robertson when he took the time to inform me of the planned surgery and why it was needed. I was hospitalized 6 days before my surgery 4 days thereafter and every day Dr Robertson his partner Dr Bibler or his PA Alex visited me and took their time to answer every question we had. This team effort to communicate with us continued during and after surgery and left me and my family feeling knowledgeable and confident of my care and treatment. Dr. Robertson and his team saved my life.

Unfortunately Dr. Robertson misdiagnosed my father and told him he DID NOT have Mesothelioma while in fact he does Mesothelioma which was confirmed by UTSW in Dallas. Dr. Robertson told my father “I have never seen anything like this” and while Mesothelioma is a rare cancer surely he has a medical textbook or google to reference. This was precious time wasted thinking my father had a benign tumor that could have been spent with the oncology team. I would highly recommend getting a second opinion if you see this doctor. Also his bedside manner is lacking as the last thing he said to my parents as they were leaving was “Don’t take this the wrong way but I hope I never see anything like you again” referencing his inability to remedy my dad’s tumor removal (that he thought was benign).

Wonderful experience. Dr. Robertson is kind and extremely knowledgeable. He not only listened to my father's concerns, but addressed every question we could think of. His nurse was kind and very attentive. The girl at the front desk was phenomenal. She not only was taking care of the front desk, checking people in, and phones, but she also roomed the patients and got vitals. She offered water and genuinely seemed concerned when my father said he had been experiencing some mind pain. You could see her smile in her eyes, and it was apparent that she loves what she does. The entire experience was a terrific one. Surgery is hard enough, but having care like we received while at BSA and in the office after made this difficult time much more manageable. Thank you.

I went 30 minutes early. Filled out paper work. Sat 1 hour in lobby. People who came in after me went before me. Finally went to a room. Number 5. Sat for 1&1/2 hours. I asked if I was abandoned or forgotten. I was told the dr. would see me that I was next. Still no dr. Still the other patients all left. At 5 the dr. Showed up, asked if I had questions. I asked about 4 questions and we were ushered out. There was no class or clinic or seminar on my procedure. I didn't know anything more than what Dr. Martinez told me. They flat forgot me and they know they did and tried to cover it up. No apology. I wasted 2 and 1/2 hours and 50 dollars for this privilege. He may have 36 years experience and is expert in his field, but he has a lot to be desired when it comes to people and their feelings and time. His manner sucks big time!. I wont recommend him to anyone! .

Will not operate unless absolutely necessary. He is an excellent Cardiothoracic Surgeon. Excellent bedside manner. Have observed his surgical technique, his pre and post operative patient care. Most recently Dr. D. J. Robertson performed a complex surgery where he reconstructed the aortic root & aortic valve of a 55 y/o family friend which saved this man's life. The patients' wife & children are eternally grateful! Many RN's are proud to recommend Dr Robertson over all other ?? Sxns.
