The worse doctor and office workers I've ever go to in my 40 yrs. Save yourself time, money and headache by going somewhere else.

I really like Dr. Nikaitani! He is straightforward and knows his stuff. Been going to him for four years. Ignore any negative comments - people who have negative comments don’t know what they are talking about.I’ve worked closely with physicians a great portion of my career and can attest to his knowledge and abilities.Instead of being negative, find another doctor you like!!!!

If you’re looking for warm and fuzzy this isn’t your guy. 45 years of internal medicine he is precise and confident in his plan of care. As a former nurse I put my trust in experience and intellect and he has this traits. He reviewed my MRI in a straight forward approach and I appreciated his professionalism.

I give 5 plus stars- Dr Nikitani is such a great doctor- he is personable, but yet business like and will help you with what ever is going on health wise- I am also so impressed with his office staff- They are so friendly and great right back to you-

My friend, a long-time patient of Dr. Nikaitani, called him after arriving in Kona from the west coast to complain of difficulty breathing. He refused to see him because he is a "snowbird"! My friend died a few days later after being misdiagnosed at an urgent care center. And yet, Dr. N. advertises frequently in West Hawaii Today that he is accepting new patients. Shame on him.

This man is a quack. I went to see him because I had an infection in my finger, as he walked into the exam room, he began telling me I needed to be on statins because my cholesterol was too high. This is without looking at any blood work. After arguing about it I agreed to get the blood work done. After reviewing that he told me I could have cancer; off I go for ultra sounds. After reviewing that he starts in about my cholesterol again. I asked about the cancer & he says, "You're getting older, it's still a threat". I walked out, never to return. The only reason I clicked on 1 star is because negative numbers weren't available.

I saw Dr. Nikaitani for 8 months and he did more damage than good. He prescribed the maximum dose of statins and called it "heart attack insurance", he failed to review any side effects with me. After 6 months, my energy level hit the bottom and he failed to recognize any of my symptoms as side effects of statin use. I now have "statin induced myopathy" and three years I later I am still struggling to recover. The community would be better off if he retired.

Our visit with Dr. Nikaitani was a positive, constructive one, unlike the experiences of some other reviewers.

Don't waste your time, or your money. I'd rather go to the ER or Urgent Care. At least I know someone would care enough to save me. The staff is great except for the Dr.

Dr. Nikaitani saved my life 24 years ago, with a brilliant diagnosis of an obscure genetic blood disorder, I inherited. He is a brilliant diagnostician. He expects patients to follow through with his recommendations and show a great degree of personal responsibility for their own health. I find him refreshingly honest and direct and I look forward to my visits twice per year.

Was very unhelpful, didn't listen to my needs, and just prescribed drugs that did not even work, or should of been giving to me for my symptoms . On top of all that over charged my insurance, and billed me twice.

Absolutely terrible. Please save yourself some trouble and find a doctor who would actually be interested in helping you.

This was my initial visit and therefore involved detailed discussion about my medical history and significant issues. Dr. Nikaitani was pleasant, attentive and respectful of my own views about specific treatments, allowing that he was fine with me declining a particular medication as long as I was aware of the associated risks. I have a medical background and have high standards about my healthcare providers. As a new resident, I'm pleased to find someone who meets my expectations.

I went to see Dr. Nikaitani this afternoon because of a chest cold. I read the reviews on line and was a bit apprehensive but since he is walking distance fro my place, I decided to give it a shot. It is amazing how you really can not go by reviews! The doctor could not have been nicer, attentive and all around very professional. he asked me all the right questions about my condition and even spent time over my medical history. I would go to him again in a heartbeat. Very professional!

Dr. Nikaitani has awful bedside manor. But he is an excellent doctor.

I cared for this physicians Hospice patients, he was very late in each referral (patient with hours to days to enjoy the benefits, near death) and then with held pain medications, with comments like he could get addicted really? Avoid this man and his lack of knowledge of healthcare. He should be retired and paying back to the community for the horrible care he inflicted on many.

He is very abrupt and does not listen to your reply. He makes us feel as if he is too busy and really is not interested

As a previous reviewer said, Dr. does not listen and interrupts when sharing your concerns. I have gone to him a few months now and I say this in a very heartfelt way - Do not waste your time going to him. I have never been able to finish a sentence but what concerns me more is that he contradicts himself over and over. My visits last about 3 mins. until he walks out of the office without even knowing or caring if I have questions or concerns. I actually have to go to urgent care when I am sick
