Dr. Don Kalant Sr, DDS

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the billing practices of Dr. Kalant’a office. In 2021, I received dental treatment and paid my insurance copayment. However, in 2024, I received a collection notice for an outstanding balance of $50 without any prior communication or warning, or explaination of the bill itself. I find this sudden and unexpected demand for payment to be unacceptable and an example of poor business practices.Key Concerns:- Lack of timely notification regarding the outstanding balance- No opportunity to address or resolve the issue before being sent to collections- Unprofessional and aggressive billing practicesI request that Dr. Kalant’s office take immediate action to address this matter by:- Canceling the collection notice and any associated fees- Providing a clear explanation for the delay in billing, the charges themselves explained, or to waive it entirely

I have visited Dr Kalant's office over a dozen times due to various procedures. Every time, I've found the Dr and his staff (Gwen, Laura, Nicole, and others) to be pleasant and professional. They have always answered my questions fully and clearly. I have absolutely no complaints and am pleased that my dentist referred me to Dr. Kalant. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

No!!! Crabby, no bedside manner. Spoke to us like we were trash. Needs to retire! Office not organized screwed up our surgery and we had to cancel the surgery. Went somewhere else completely different experience.

Dr, Kalant did an implant for me. I really liked him and found him very professional. My procedures went very well, he worked closely with my dentist. I now have my implant in place and was very happy with Dr. Kalant’s work and his entire office staff!

This review is far too late!! Dr Kalant treated me after another practitioner made a mess of a same day implant that got infected, and she blamed me and removed all the bone above that tooth up to my nose! Dr Kalant didn't charge me for his consult or the scan, and his price for the implant, which turned into two when I cracked the crown next to it. What was supposed to be one, maybe two surgeries, turned into seven, because my system seemed to not want to heal. Dr Kalant never charged me another dollar. His staff was so very nice and he was amazing. I would STRONGLY recommend him if you are looking for someone to do oral or facial surgery!!

Dr. Kalant was wonderful answering all of my questions prior to a dental implant. He took his time and made sure my dentist knew the plan also. The office staff was helpful and welcoming too. I would recommend him to anyone who needs an excellent oral surgeon, he was great.

After paying for 2 consultations,and a ct scan, Dr Kalant didn't even have the common courtesy to call and let me know if he was going to treat me or not, even after several calls to his office.That is not professional, that's just plain RUDE!

We called to schedule a free consultation. When we went into the clinic, we asked again if the consultation was free. We were assured that it was and had no obligation to go through with the recommendations. After nearly 2 years, we found out that we were put into connections for a bill that we never saw. If I had an option, he would get NO stars. Beware of the false advertising!

Very helpful and worked with me to do implants that were very difficult due to my medical history.

I had been referred to Dr. Kalant by my dentist as I had to have 7 teeth extracted. I had no problems after the procedure and only had to take ibuprofen for minor pain the day after surgery. I would highly recommend them for any oral surgery as they were wonderful. I have had many friends that have had just wisdom teeth pulled & have been in excruciating pain the day after requiring high doses of pain meds. I had seven teeth pulled & never even got swollen from the procedure nor was I in pain.

I Highly recommend Dr Kalant and his office. I recently had two impacted wisdom teeth extracted at his office in Naperville. Before hand I was extremely nervous and anxious. Him, the anesthesiologist, and the nurses did their best to distract me and put me at ease. Needless to say when everything was done, I actually had very little pain, everything is healing just fine, and I was very happy. They called to follow up with me the day after, and they explained everything in great detail.

Absolutely amazing doctor. Went to see him today for a 2nd opinion on TMJ. He took a CT scan and didn't charge me a penny. He sat with me an hour and a half and went through every X-ray with me and explained everything in detail. I haven't met a doctor like this in a long time!
