Dr. Domingo Cheleuitte, MD

ER late Tuesday night, Trimalleolar ankle fracture (Closed), they sent me home with a soft cast and gave me a referral for surgery they said I would require. I called the doctor of my choice after researching my options the next day and got in Wednesday. Dr. Cheleuitte's office got right in and surgery was scheduled on that Friday as outpatient. Everyone was very helpful and Dr. Cheleuitte made me feel completely confident that my surgery would have a favorable outcome, but the healing would take time...he reiterated 'stability before mobility' and for me not to get in a rush...great bedside manner and all his staff is awesome!! Dr. Cheleuitte has over 27 years of experience and his work shows it 100%!!

He was not unkind, but I felt like a number, not a patient. I broke my ankle and tore a tendon and every appointment felt rushed like he just wanted me out of there. He explained nothing and didn't give me the opportunity to ask questions. Didn't even tell me information as basic as a timeline for when I should expect to be able to resume normal activities. He didn't ask a lot of questions about what was going on so we didn't figure out I had a tendon tear until 4 months after my initial injury. My tendon was hurting but he suggested surgery to remove my bone chip, even though I hadn't yet had the opportunity to try physical therapy to heal my tendon. The whole thing was confusing and awful. I have since switched doctors and already it's like a better experience. I wouldn't recommend him or any TMC Orthopedic doctor. I went to their urgent care when I first got hurt and that doctor was even worse.

Horrible!!! Rude, no bedside manner! No compassion or sympathy! Had surgery in February of 2023, had to return in January of 2024 due to not doing surgery correctly in 2023. He treated me like I had caused the problem with the surgery; took no accountability for his error. He also treated me like I was a drug seeker and invalidated the level of my pain. No one and I mean no one not even a surgeon can ever tell anyone the level of pain someone is in, even a surgeon with no blemishes on their resume does not give them the right or the qualification to judge or measure someone's discomfort or pain! He is not concerned about my well being post surgery even after I explained that their was unusual discoloration, swelling, and pain post surgery. He came off with an attitude like "I" did something to cause this surgery to happen; absolutely no accountability on his part. I mean I get it, mistakes happen but don't, don't, don't, ever treat a patient like this! I feel abused, mistreated, victimized and traumatized now. I have been through several surgeries in my life and tolerated a heck of a lot of pain How dare he ever ever minimize my pain! He was way out of bounds! I sure do hope something gets done about this so that no one ever has to endure what I went through. Would he treat his sister, mother, spouse this way? Or for that matter anybody that he knows personally? Unacceptable!

He was very concise with his explanation and his knowledge of the type of ankle injury I incurred. He was understanding of my hestitstion for surgery and was willing to work with me to try to heal without surgery. I indeed heal better than I thought I could. He was knowledgeable, compassionate, and patient to explain e when asked questions. Great manner with his patients. Would not hesitate going back to him if I reinjured!

My experience with Dr Cheleueitte, the nurses and surgical team was excellent. I was afraid to get the surgery for my bunion & most people I spoke with said it would be aweful & painful. After praying about it and speaking with the doctor I went ahead with the surgery. I had minimal pain after surgery & complied with the recovery instructions. After 5 weeks I am starting to walk on it. Yes, there is discomfort & I am still real careful with it but recovery has been VERY good. I strongly recommend Dr Cheleueitte to anyone who needs surgery.

I love this man! He is such a great doctor so caring, thoughtful and sits there and listens to you! I highly recommend him!!!

Dr. Cheleuitte is above all a kind and gentle human being. He is a good communicator and every foot surgery he has performed on my horribly flat feet has been a success

There was no waiting for my appointment. Everyone was on time and very friendly. Dr. Cheleuitte was thorough in his exam and explained everything so I could understand.

Went the extra mile to explore my complicated health history as it related to my fracture and recovery, the water physical therapy at TOI Rehab was very helpful Staff at the clinic were all professional and kind at every visit!

The doctor saw me promptly and was very thorough-cute personality too

5-23-2022 visit with Dr Cheleuitte. He said There is a risk I could refracture my 5th metarsal on my left foot again and need surgery. He said this with kindness. He listened to my concerns. He was very happy to know I am walking & doing foot exercises. I was very satisfied with Dr Cheleuitte.

Was grateful, that the Dr took time with my MRI, and referred me to a neurologist.

I’ve been a patient for many years & even tho I have multiple complications he’s only made things better for me. He’s ALWAYS on time, approachable & thorough. I’m a picky patient, being a medical provider myself, and will not allow any other physician treat my ankles/feet.

I highly recommend Dr. Cheleuitte! I have had Rheumatoid Arthritis for over 40 years and have severe bone and joint disintegration. Dr. Cheleuitte has operated on both my left and right feet and is an amazing surgeon. His surgeries are incredibly pain free and heal quickly and beautifully. He is also very compassionate and really listens to his patients. I would never see any other surgeon as Dr. Cheleuitte is the very best!

March 2022 - Dr Domingo Cheleuiette is a caring & highly skilled & extremely well trained orthopedic surgeon at Tucson Orthopaedics Institute. He is thorough & very personable in a short visit, listens well, & explains things very well. I don't feel rushed, but he has a very large patient load, therefore things move quickly. He is very good at answering questions & explaining anything you don't understand. His skill & experience allows him to assess your injury pretty quickly. I have unfortunately had to see him for a couple of injuries & issues & he has been very pleasant & my having a lifetime of musculoskeletal issues (degenerative issues & injuries) has given me a broad experience w/orthopedic specialists... (I am using my body up fully...by the time I die it will be completely worn out! yeah a joke). He is decisive (a good trait) & being highly well trained & skilled he provide complete & thorough instructions and guidance. I find him funny,personable, & enjoyable to work with.

He is very persistent. He knows what he wants done and when. He takes his time with procedures and knows how he wants to do it

Dr. Cheleuitte rebuilt my broken ankle a year ago. During my recovery and follow up visits, he has been exceptionally supportive. He gives clear explanations, listens, and answers my questions.
