Dr. Dmitri Baranov, MD

I started seeing Dr. Baranov a little over a year ago. I knew I met the Surgeon I wanted to do my surgery. He explained everything. He was very strict. I had to stop smoking and I did the day after I saw him. I had to prove that I was 100% percent ready for this. I love everyone in the office. Nurses, The Nutritionist , and the ladys at the front desk. Everyone made me so comfortable. I want to thank the best Bariatric Surgeon for letting me have my life back. God bless him always! Oh and he called me 6 days after surgery to make sure I was taken my meds right, giving myself my injections, how many steps im taking a day and how much m drinking. Thank you, ,thank you ,Thank you!!

I finally made the decision to lose weight. I had seen a great deal of information about the program at Saratoga Hospital. Today I went for my first visit. Office staff were very nice. The nurse that went through all my medical & surgical history was great. Then Dr. Baranov came in! I had some preconceived ideas about what he was going to be like after watching the informational webinar. I know that’s never a good idea, but he turned out to be exactly like I thought he was going to be. He was rude, condescending & dictatorial! I certainly hope he’s a better surgeon than a person. I will continue with the program because I won’t need to see him a lot.

I loved Dr. Baranov. He lays everything out for you. He’s a no nonsense kind of guy. The only thing that stops me from giving him five stars is his front office staff are extremely rude! I cringe every time I have to call there!

Let me just start by saying Dr B. And his team were amazing from the very beginning when I started the program. I’ve struggled all my life with my weight. So I finally said I need to do this for not only my health, also for my children and Grandchildren especially now after my children lost their father a year ago. I just decided it was time. So I signed up for the seminar. Dr B. Was very friendly and professional. He talked about how the whole program works. I found it very helpful. So I moved on to doing all the things I needed to do to have the gastric sleeve done. I finally finished everything and Dr B. Cleared me for my surgery. I was excited and nervous all at the same time. But I knew I was in great hands. I have heard so many people talk about how thorough he is and his team on making sure that you are fit enough to have the surgery done. So it was time for me to have the surgery. From beginning to the end Dr B. And his team work very hard and they did an amazing job.

Dr Barinov’s system of weight loss works! He maps out the rules to follow and if you simply do as he suggests you will succeed. He has perfected a program that is easy to follow and makes sense. I have been very successful with his program, and it has not been a difficult journey. My year anniversary of my surgery is in one month and I have lost 75 lbs and am still losing. I sincerely recommend this as a weight loss solution to anyone who is on the fence and has previously tried to lose weight through diet. Don’t be afraid to take this opportunity that will change your life for the better.

Great doctor who knows what he is doing. He has a very simple, strict routine that is design to benefit you. His bed side manner is lacking a bit but he is to the point and direct. However, some patients but not be able to handle hearing the truth and would prefer things to be sugar coated. He will hold you accountable when you are making the wrong decisions. The nurses at the hospital are very aware of his directions and will keep you on that path. He regularly checks your reports after surgery and even gives a call to check in a few days later. I definitely trust him with the decisions I made on my weight loss journey.

I have been going to him/ his pas/ nutrition since july. Pre surgery i lost around 40lbs without needing to lose anything for my surgery- double win. He does not have the best bedside manner- short to the point but he is very helpful. He just called me 2 nights ago to make sure i was doing what i should be doing and fixing what i was doing wrong which was extremely helpful. His nurses and dietitians are very helpful with questions. The nurses at the hospital know exactly what he wants his patients to do and monitors you to make sure you can leave the next day.

From the beginning the doctor was rude but I ignored it and then he continued to be rude and dismissive. He doesn't listen to or trust his patients and was very mean.

After doing a lot of research and seeing all of Dr. Baranov's reviews I chose his practice. I am 4 days post op sleeve surgery and Dr. Baranov had already called to see how I'm doing and answer any questions I have. He was on right on my stats while I was in the hospital and made sure I was taken care of. Thank you! For taking such good care of me Dr. Baranov. I have a way to go but I know I'm in good hands.

I can’t say enough amazing wonderful things about Dr Baranov and his staff !!! I’m in the middle of this amazing journey and all along Dr B has been helpful his bedside manner is that of none other He’s very kind and caring but yet very direct !!!He takes time with you I never felt rushed or not cared about & His staff is also wonderful they answered all of my questions and concerns , I’m looking forward to the rest of my journey with no uncertainty or concerns !!!!

Dr. Baranov has developed an outstanding program that works! Dr. Baranov and his staff are outstanding! They walk you through every step of the process, answering any questions you have. All my concerns were answered. It’s really a team effort. I can’t say enough positive things about my experience. I encourage anyone thinking about surgery to make the first step and reach out to Dr. Baranov’s office. You will not be disappointed!

At age 69, the thought of having major surgery scared the heck out of me despite a doctor encouraging me to do so for years. However when I got on the scale one morning and it read 345 I was in shock! That was in October 2021 with the holidays coming I knew I would be celebrating a new year at 350 or more. My doctor recommended Dr. Baranov as his program offered several approaches to weight loss. The online introductory session completely changed my mind about having the sleeve surgery; the doctor covered everything I was nervous about. I met with the doctor in December. The staff made the whole process of booking all the necessary tests and appointments so easy. In mid-May I had the surgery and here I am 7 weeks post op and I have lost 67 lbs since I started this journey. Another 100 or so to go but I know I have to stick with the program. All in all, a positive experience that is already proving to be life changing.

He's very direct, and patience at the same time. Dr.B knows what you need and he wants you to succeed. Thank you very much Dr.Baranov

I had Gastric Sleeve surgery by Dr. Baranov on 1/5/22. He was very serious and straight forward with everything, from what his expectations where to answering any questions I had. He seems intimidating but he's not, he honestly only wants the best for all his patients. Which is why he is so strict! Do not think you can fool this man, he will kick you out of his program if you are not serious about this and above all be completely honest with him. This is a complete lifestyle change and you have to be 110% committed. That being said he is an amazing Dr. and his whole team is extremely nice and they where there for me every step of the way with all questions, and concerns. They made the process as smooth as possible, and Dr. Baranov even took the time to call and check up on me himself on a Sunday evening a few days after surgery! If that doesn't scream amazing Dr. I don't know what does. I would recommend Dr. Baranov to anyone looking for a great Dr. for weight loss.

I Had Gastric bypass in November of 2020. Dr Baranov is very informative and very serious. If you don't follow his instructions, or you miss appointments he will kick you out of the program. After surgery you only see his physician assistants at your appointments. Which caught me a little off guard. The process can go very fast depending on Insurance. I had my surgery a couple days short of two months from my first appointment. So if you really want this, you have to be committed and not miss any appointments either with him or a reffering physician. You definitely need to have thick skin in terms of his bedside manner. Go into your first appointment assuming he will lecture you heavily about something. Almost 14 months and I went from 257 to 130lbs.

I recently had weight loss surgery with Dr. Baranov. Dr Baranov and his team made my journey to a healthier me as easy as possible. It took me a long time to be ready for surgery and take that initial step to go see Dr. B. and his team. Dr. Baranov was very patient with me, answering any questions I had all along the way. All of my requirements for the program were explained to me from day one. There were no surprises or unexpected bumps in the road. I followed exactly what he told me to do and had surgery just about two months to the day I met Dr Baranov. While this is not usual or to be expected I knew I was ready, what I wanted and was able to meet all the goals of his program in that time period. Surgery day I felt more excited than nervous and Dr. Baranov was right there that morning to ease my nerves and answer any last minute questions too! I've been a Patient with Dr. Baranov for over a year now and have been very successful with the weight loss surgery. I couldn't be happier with my decision to go through with it. I recently went into his office with pain unsure to what it was and where to turn and they took the time to figure it out and get me taken care of and feeling better. Dr. Baranov is the absolute best Doctor I've ever met, and is definitely the most involved and caring Bariatric surgeon there is. My husband and I both had bariatric surgery with Dr. Baranov, and have had great success with our weight loss! I'm 4 1/2 years post surgery, and hubby is 2 years post surgery, and are doing fantastic! If you are planning on having weight loss surgery, definitely go talk to Dr. Baranov! You won't regret it!

I am 1 week post op and my experience so far has been top notch. I had looked into this a few years ago and had even gone to an in person information group session. I wasn't ready then. This past spring I joined in on one of the information web calls and then followed up and scheduled an appointment. Dr. Baranov and every staff member that I have met have been very knowledgeable. Each has been kind and courteous. Dr Baranov has things set up for you after that initial consultation that I found put me on the right track almost immediately. He set a reasonable goal weight pre-surgery and made sure that I visited several other health professionals to ensure I was ready in both mind and body. The pressure I have put on myself to succeed in this life change is the only pressure I have felt. I know that with the support of my wife, family and Dr Baranov's staff I will get healthier.
