Very Disappointed
My first and only interaction with Dr. Strachan was over a week ago and I am still shocked over it. PLEASE LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVE INTERACTIONS PEOPLE HAVE HAD. I wrote them off as people who were overly sensitive or overly critical (which I find many folks can be when it comes to Black female medical professionals). But unfortunately, they are all accurate.First, she prescribed me medications that were submitted to my pharmacy shortly after 10am the morning of my appointment. The pharmacy requested further information from the doctor less than an hour after they had been submitted, as the dosage she requested seemed to not match up with the reason for the prescription. Over a week later and several calls, texts, and attempts from the pharmacy - my prescription remained unfilled because she never responded. I ended up requesting them to be resubmitted by my Primary Physician who referred me. The prescriptions were filled immediately and she has since taken Dr. Strachan off her recomme

Great results! No downtime!
Great results! I am so happy the doctor recommended the Aerolase laser treatment for my acne and dark marks. It was comfortable, improved my appearance, and there was no downtime. I am pleased. Very professional office.

She's earned every poor review
By far, one of the worst interactions with a doctor I’ve ever experienced in NYC. Not only was she unapologetically late, but uncaring and rushed (not to mention, as rude as they come). I made the “mistake” of asking some skincare questions and one of her multiple condescending responses included, 'I'm a dermatologist, not an esthetician.' When I briefly addressed my common eczema, she matter-of-factly told me (rather than asking), that she was taking my blood because it could also be lupus. I then asked if the blood work was covered by insurance. Her response was simply to ignore me (can't make this up) while telling me she was writing two topical prescriptions. No mention of the blood work or the importance of said blood work again. When I attempted to ask a question about the prescriptions, she had one foot out the door, said to come back in a month, and left. For an appt that lasted under 7 mins, how hard is it to be respectful to a patient? NEVER going back.

I am transformed!
I wasn't even thinking about my hair loss when I went for a routine visit with the doctor for something else. She is very thorough and noticed the issue. She suggested this new treatment called Alma TED. I gave it a try. My hair is growing back! It works so fast. I didn't think it was possible. I no longer have to hide. See a hair loss expert if you have this problem. Don't start just trying random treatments. There is hope.

Now a chemical peel fan!
I am loving the chemical peels at Aglow Dermatology. Frankly, I was a little concerned as people can make chemical peels sound so scary, but the doctor knows what she is doing. The peels have really helped my acne and blemishes.

loved the rf microneedling treatment!
I love the results I get at Aglow Dermatology. I had the Cutera Secret rf microneedling treatment. The results were impressive. The doctor chooses well. Not everyone needs the same treatment. She really focuses on the individual needs. I look great-- if I do say so myself!

Made me feel like a waste of her time
I went to Dr. Strachan for an annual skin screening and to understand ways I could prevent aging. She barely spent 10m with me - hardly enough for a thorough check! And with every follow up question I asked her, her manner of answering made me feel like I was wasting her time. Terrible terrible waste of MY time and money! Never again.

Really before you even waste your time visiting this place, do what I didn’t do, and LISTEN to these reviews. Dr. Strachan irritable, condescending, and downright rude. You might be able to excuse the lack of bedside manner, if it’s in sacrifice of great treatment, but alas, that was not at all the case with this doctor. She basically gets you to come in to charge your insurance and then tells you to go buy some stuff from the store. Stay far, far away.

TERRIBLE visit with a TERRIBLE Doctor! The whole experience of going to her office left me with such an incredible bad experience that I feel the need to warn everyone that I can against visiting this office. After I left my review on another site about this experience, saying that I will never go back and that no one should ever go there, I received a letter from the doctors office saying that she will no longer treat me due to my interactions with her office...as if I would ever step foot back there. She is condescending and doesn't seem to like or understand that talking to people is a part of her job. Explaining treatments and their effectiveness seemed to be painful for her and she rudely snapped back with inappropriate responses. Please take this seriously - this office is horrible.

Stay away from this business! My entire experience with them has been completely terrible. Before you even consider them, look at their reviews, there's a reason they are so extremely poorly rated. In my own experience, I had the doctor cancel my appointment just 2 hours before the appointment, the secreterial staff is inefficient, my PCP doctor whom I have been with for years sent a referral to them and my doctor always sends referals immediately so I found it odd Aglow kept insisting they didnt have it, they even canceled my appointment because supposedly they hadn't received it, when in reality it had been sent to them days prior. After canceling my first appointment, because their doctor had a personal issue come up, they let me know only by text, and didnt even bother bringing up the issue of rescheduling my appointment. I had to do it. That alone shows you the level of professionalism and customer service given at Aglow. Furthermore, after I did make an appointment, I wasnt able

I'd give her ZERO stars if I could. Had an appointment with Dr. Strachan along with my daughter on 5/26/2021. My daughter and myself was refused to be seen because we did not want to put a debt card/credit card on file. The day that I made the appointment I was told that Dr. Strachan took my health insurance, so why would she need my card information? Also, I should have been told that they need a credit card /debt card and then I would have made a decision not to travel two hours on the train to see Dr. Strachan. I was a little disappointed because I wanted to see a dermatologist of color before I started my radiation treatment. Not only did she waste my time, but this make me think that she was going to do a procedure that was not covered under my insurance and charge my card without my consent. Not that the Doctor cares, but that was not a very good 1st impression from someone with her accommodation.
