Our experience with Dr Avgerinos was AWFUL! Although initially he seemed highly attentive, the outcome was disastrous and my mother died shortly after the operation. I cannot help but feel that if Dr. Avgerinos had handled things with more compassion and professionalism my mother would still be alive today.

Dr Avgerinos' bedside manner is second to none. They way he described the procedure calmed me and my family. He makes me feel like he cares about me, my health and my future quality of life. His methods should be studied as the standard. Thank you for saving my life. His staff of nurses also treated me like family, particularly Lovely, Elezabeth, Peter, Paula and Sade.

Dr A is one of the most charismatic surgeons that NYC has to offer. He replaced my aortic valve and fixed my aortic root aneurysm with amazing dexterity and skill. His manner and personality are absolutely outstanding. He is for sure a present and future star in the field of heart surgery. I will be grateful for ever!!

This marvelous surgeon repaired my mitral valve through a small incision. I have many medical problems and did not want to have a valve replacement. I woke up in the ICU a few hours after the operation and went home in less than a week after. God bless him!!!

On Dec 2015, I had triple coronary bypass surgery, performed by Dr Avgerinos. Since then, I have had no post surgical or medical sequelae. My cardiac stress tests are absolutely normal. I take no cardiac medicines except for mild antihypertensive agent and a statin to keep my cholesterol to below 170. I went lake swimming this past weekend, and walked my dog today. All lab tests indicate I am of the lowest chance to have heart disease.

My cardiologist recommended this surgeon as young, energetic, and with great results. I had a hole in my heart since birth and also a couple of my arteries were blocked. Dr Avgerinos closed the hole and did double bypass. I woke up the same day and was taken off the breathing machine. By the next day, I was on my feet and went home 4 days after. His team is the best in New York and I recommend him highly!!!

I had my surgery done in Feb 2016. I had a very tight aortic valve with difficulty breathing. The surgeon was very informative and explained the risks of the surgery. Calm, confident and very polite. He came highly recommended from a family friend. The surgery went perfect and the recovery was without any problems. Thank you Dr Avgerinos!!!!

I had a very rare aneurysm of my aortic artery which made my aortic valve stretch and be very leaky. My cardiologist recommended that I go see Dr Avgerinos who has specialized in diseases of the aorta. I saw him in November 2015 and he explained to me and my wife with detail how the surgery is done. He didn't hide behind big words and promises. He explained all the risks of the operation and his warm personality and confidence made us decided to trust him. The surgery was a great success!!!

This amazing surgeon treated my husband for infection of the mitral valve. He managed to save the valve by removing completely the infection part. The operation took only 3 hours and the recovery another 4 days. My husband was back to work in 3 weeks after the surgery. The whole team was very helpful and was led with great ability by Dr Avgerinos. I thank him and recommend him to every patient who needs his valve surgery done.

Dr Avgerinos repaired my aortic aneurysm in Dec 2014. Before that, I had seen 3 other cardiac surgeons, but he was the only one who sat down with me and explained the whole surgery in great detail. After the surgery, I had some atrial fibrillation episodes, that were successfully managed by Dr Avgerinos and his assistants. All the hospital personnel were amazing and I highly recommend him for any type of heart surgery
