Excellent Care
Dr. Mahapatra has been my doctor for over ten years. I am very happy with the health care I have received. I believe he knows me fairly well and I’m confident he chooses best health care ideas for me.

10 years of experience as a patient
Dr. Mahapatra cares. My husband and I both use him as our GP. He checks our blood, hearts, weight etc. His treatment plan resulted in my soon to be 66 year old husband having a health life of a 38 year old according to my husbands work health plan administrators. He prevented a heart issue by referring my husband to a specialist, resulting in a stent. My husband is pre-diabetic, Dr. checks weight because diabetes is a common threat to longevity, nothing to complain about as in a comment I read on this thread. Dr. Mahapatra visited me in the hospital after 2 ACL treatments and a broke fibula and tibia. He has consulted with my oral surgeon about a diagnosis he felt could be harmful since I have Osteoporosis. How many other GP’s have you heard of contacting and consultation with your specialty doctors? Staff is wonderful.

Overall hard to beat
His staff is friendly, wait times are low, and availability is good. Be nice to have email and an online portal and all the bells and whistles, but overall satisfied. There may be a hiccup in the road, but communicate and get is resolved. He is there to help.

Horrible Service – May 16, 2023

Turned away for $25.00
I was a 15-year patient of Dr. Mahapatra. I had food poisoning on the day of an appointment with him. I called early that morning and was rescheduled 2 days later. Upon arrival at my appointment, $25.00 was demanded from me for a missed appointment. Did he honestly expect me to come to his office throwing up everywhere? My husband had dropped me off and left to run errands. I accidentally left my pocketbook in the car. I had no money and the doctor refused again to meet with me. So much for his Oath to help people. The Almighty dollar stands before his patients. I was turned away for $$$.

He himself is okay. Seemed more preoccupied with my weight than anything else, despite having some serious and unrelated concerns. His nurse was a delight. His office staff were difficult and rude.

This review is based solely on Dr. Mahapatra's business office, which is very difficult to deal with, and this is with those who do pay their bills. He himself is personable and seems competent. Because of the business manager, we are seriously considering changing doctors.

Just writes prescriptions, never even checks anything, like bloodwork or listening to lungs, for a bad copd patient, this dr wrote more prescriptions, and we went to a different dr. that day and she was admitted directly into the hospital...do some listening to your patients instead of just writing more prescriptions!!!!!!!!!! Love them payments from the drug companies!
