Dr. Diana Carlson, DO

I initially wasn’t going to write this but I did not enjoy my experience with Dr Carlson at all. Her attitude toward me was very cold and she clearly did not like the fact that I was on Medicaid at the time. I felt uncomfortable and I felt stereotyped by some of the questions she was asking that had nothing to do with my health. You don’t treat a person like that just because of what insurance they have. I came to her because I wanted help and I was made to feel like I was some low life or something. I will not be seeing her again. I will never forget being treated like that.

Dr. Carlson was recommended to me, as I was in the process of switching physicians. Continually interrupted with phone calls, text and office staff. It took her 2 1/2 hours to complete a routine physical. A Cologuard cancer screening kit was ordered and shipped without my knowledge. As the package was not anticipated (and insurance would not cover this service), the package was refused and returned back to Colorguard. Also, office is closed in Wednesday afternoons. Not impressed.

Although Dr. Carlson has received a 4 star rating on this website I have not found this to be my experience during my stay at Huron Valley Hospital. She was rude to me and exhibited a superior aloofness and insulting behavior that made for a very bad bedside manner. Her final insult was to lower my pain med order that was directly prescribed by my surgeon even after I confirmed the dosage with him. NEVER again will she be part of my medical care. Stay away from her. She is immature.

I was taken back about 20 minutes late and from there it took Dr. Carlson about 30 more minutes to come into the room. She introduced herself and sat down and began asking me all about my medical history after leaving the door wide open. About 3 minutes into our conversation, she got a call on her cell phone and left the room. Throughout my appointment, she answered 3 calls. She was also very condescending towards me. The appointment ended up taking 2 hours and it was just for a routine physical
