Worst doctor appointment ever
The receptionist denied he took my insurance when I knew he did. She also said they never received a referral but I know they had. So I offered to pay the fee myself since I was there and needed help with my Lupus. She told me I couldn't because I had insurance. It took 2 hours before someone came to give me a ride home. I wasn't mad, just devastated that a doctors office could do that to a sick 76 year old woman on oxygen.

The front office staff needs to be replaced!
Dr. Basu and his PA are wonderful. The office staff as EVERYONE has stated is horrible. I have a bill I am trying to pay and have made repeated phone calls and no one calls back. I guess they don't want to get paid. They do not offer online pay on the bill as most doctors do. This practice can really do themselves a favor and replace the front office staff. That is what everyone is writing bad reviews about. They even have a sign by the check in window to not harass the front office staff. Well then, maybe if they did their job they wouldn't need to put this. I have NEVER experienced a front office staff like this and if they worked for me they would not be here anymore.

I have been a patient of Dr Basu’s for many years and wouldn’t change doctors ever! He has been my lifesaver! I won’t lie I have had some issues in the past with some of his staff but that was in the past! The wait time used to be way to long but has gotten so much better! Dr Basu listens to my concerns always! If he can order a tests for an issue I am having he will before sending me to another specialist! All of my medications come from him and he and my PCP and all other drs stay in contact with each other! I can’t imagine ever having to see another Dr!

DO NOT GO HERE!!!
My PCP sent a referral to this doc twice. I called (twice) to see why they were not contacting me--no way to talk to anyone, just leave a message; NO RESPONSE either time, no return call. So I went by to see what was happening. Was told they did not have a referral. I had an appt with PCP that day; they showed me the confirmation from the faxed referrals and sent another one. So I went back to this office. The referral coord was, first of all, completely dismissive and rude; talked over her shoulder. Receptionist told me she did have the referral now (imagine that!), but it was the 5th one in the stack, so she would have to call me--and I was standing 5 feet away from her!!! Two days later...still no call. Like I said--DO NOT GO HERE. Totally rude for no reason at all.

His staff is the worst I’ve ever experienced and I’ve had some nurse ratchets in my day! I will not be seeing him again after his front desk person hung up on me for the 5th time. How are they getting away with this and how is this not getting back to dr Basu? I may have lupus and I have no doctor that I know of that can help me. Dr Basu you need to know you are losing sick people because of your front desk. That’s not a good look. Do the right thing.

This rating has to do with Dr. Basu’s staff he is a great doctor! The staff is extraordinarily rude and condescending. They do not care whatsoever about how they treat his patients and after several years I will be looking for another doctor unfortunately. At this point I would assume he knows the complaints about his staff as I have heard a lot just waiting in the waiting room I have witnessed their behavior towards other patients, I have met a nurse before that stopped going to his office because of his staff, and I have seen the reviews. I have tried to be patient and deal with it because he is a great doctor but I can’t anymore. I dread any conversation with his front office staff in person or over the phone! They need to fire them and find someone else or they will keep running patients off!

I have read all the reviews of Dr. Basu, including the one stars. It is highly unfortunate that the front office staff garnered these reviews which affect Dr. Basu. Many of these were a couple years ago and I assume normal staff turnover has addressed these issues. Let me get to the bottom line. I have waited for an hour and I have waited for 5 min for an appt. (all my most recent appointments less than 10 min). Here is what you need to hear. Dr. Basu saved my life. I saw him for RA but he saw test results which he did not like and called me at home, after hours, to see a surgeon, the next day. Within 72 hours, saw surgeon and had cancer diagnosed and thyroid and PT removed. Today I live 2 hours from his office but still travel every other week for infusions for RA and chronic tophaceous gout. He is exceptionally intelligent and dedicated to his patients. His appointments might run long, which cascade to your appointment being late, but please stick with Basu

Love Basu-HATE HIS RECEPTIONIST I will no longer be a patient, after 3+ years of attending. 5 minutes late will get you canceled, and she will ask your car type then check the security cameras to make sure you aren’t lying. She is absolutely rude and not at all sympathetic when THEIR system isn’t working. I believe her name is Leslie. She needs to be fired ASAP and I will be contacting their practice management about this.

Dr. BASU's office staff is HORRIBLE!!! Elizabeth is rude!!! They won't answer your call you and won't even respond to the pharmacy or your pcp. They only want you to come in and pay a copay. They refuse to give me my prescription. I will find a different doc. This is year 2 that they've done me like this. I hope nobody goes to him EVER

I didn't read the review before making an appointment, and that was my mistake. I have waited for 1 hour in the waiting area to be called and another hour in the room. The staff came to the room, and said Dr Basu has left the office. Then, I have received an email saying the appointment has been cancelled because the patient has left. It was Dr Basu rather than the patient.

This is one of the worst doctors offices I have been to. As many others have said, the staff are very unpleasant and unhelpful in any and all situations. It took almost a year for me to even get an appointment at this office. I have seen Dr Basu 2 times now. Both times I have waited over 2 hours to see him. He then asks a lot of questions, really quickly, without taking any time to really listen. When I told him that I was having trouble with a medication his answer was to lessen the dose, not try to find an alternative. I feel that he has decided the treatment plan he is going to use and it doesn't really matter what I say he is sticking to it. I would not reccomend going to this office for care. I will be changing to a differentRhuematologist as soon as I can get a hold of my insurance.

Dr. Basu is an excellent doctor, which makes this an even more difficult review to write. The problem is that his staff is so rude, unreliable and incompetent that we can no longer be patients. I have been a patient for almost 4 years and in that time we have had failures of staff to follow up with us over the phone, had appointments moved or canceled without notice, lost paperwork and many other issues. It took over a month to generate a single prescription the doctor had ordered in office during a visit. Numerous times when attending an appointment for the specific reason of receiving medication in office, the staff had failed to have the medication available! To say nothing of the ridiculous wait times we experienced at every appointment, only to be admonished by the rude staff when asking about the wait time.

Although I am very grateful for Dr. Basu, the last few visits have been unbearable. My last visit in January I was there for 2 hours and there were 5 people ahead of me before I could even get called back to a room. I drove from Dallas to make the appointment and was told I could either wait or reschedule. My appt was at 4 and by this time it was after 6. I had to reschedule with Megan or wait 2 months to see Dr. Basu. Unfortunately that was my last visit. Hate to leave but I need to.

Dr. Basu changed my life! I was stuck in bed & had to get help to move. Other drs just told me there was nothing to do. Dr. Basu told me that it may take awhile trying different things, but I could be better and he would not give up & neither should I. Now I am slow but able to move around my house taking care of things on my own. He is still helping me try to improve. I do usually have to wait, but it is because he takes the time to listen to each patient. I would rather be heard than ignored.
