Dr. Derek Hiltz, DO

He won't LISTEN.

Dr. Hiltz and his staff were very friendly. He answered any questions I had and was quick to follow-up on the results from labs.

Poor. He may be a fine osteopath, but he's a terrible general practioner. Look for another PCP.

I have never been a fan of the entire medical field. Haven't had a primary physician for over 35 years. I Went to my 1st appointment with Dr. Derek HILTZ at OPTUM on Pasadena Blvd. In St. Petersburg today. What a Wonderful, Caring Man!! Took time explaining all of my results (B.P. and E.K.G., etc.). Best physician I have Ever dealt with in my 66 years of life!! The office staff...ALL of them are Just As EXCEPTIONAL as Dr. HILTZ!!! WHAT A WONDERFUL GROUP!! Dealt with 4 of the staff members and Very Happy with Every One! Entire Visit was just Wonderful and helped greatly improve my opinion of the entire Medical World! Thanks So Much For Everything!! Thinks who he is and rude went to walk in clinic and better care terrible

I have never met a Dr that is as rude and unprofessional as this Dr. He should not be allowed to care for seniors. He dose not allowed you to question him I believe he thinks he is god. His ego is out of this world he yells at his patients family when they have questions about the so call care that he provides. He sends his nurse to do his job and when she ask him to come and take a look at the issues. He says he's too busy to take a look at the patient and states just but a band-aid on it and come back in 2 days. The office was empty. 6 appointment he is charging Medicare for and he has never looked at the patient issues. We now have a new Dr. Just because this Dr was assigned to you by your insurance doesn't mean you are stuck with type of Dr. This Dr ratings on Google is 1.8 which is very bad and it fits him.

Dr Hiltz is a cold arrogant and condescending person. He refuses to listen to you as he knows everything. His ego is very sensitive and he is quick to scold you if he perceives that you are not enraptured when he voices his pearls of wisdom about your illness or your symptoms. Don’t waste your time here unless you like being crushed and belittled

Unprofessional and rude

Very poor experience and a disappointment. His staff is great, it's a shame they wasted on such a rude, ridiculous excuse for a doctor. You should avoid him if you can and save yourself the aggravation and bad experience. I wish I had, and I also wish I read the reviews prior to my visits. Every before 2017 is good, and just about every review since has been one star. I wish there was a way to put ZERO and to warn others ahead of time. A COMPLETE WASTE OF YOUR TIME AND ENERGY !!!

Best doctor I've been to in 20 years. Very thorough and gives you the time to ask and answer questions. Staff is great. Always follows up and returns calls promptly.

I have had the fortune to have had many fabulous doctors in my life. Dr. Hiltz and his staff are, in my opinion, at the top of the list. My first visit was a complete surprise as to through, carrying and a sense of humor (very important to me to be able to laugh). My brother, who just moved here to Florida has already contacted CarePlus to change his primary to Dr. Hiltz.

We are new to the area and my husband has a new insurance. It was time for an annual visit and medication refills. Dr. Hiltz made his transition seamless and provided excellent care during his first visit. We were especially impressed that he doesn't keep you waiting, always reserves same day appointments for urgent need, and someone is on call 24 hours. His office manager, medical assistant and front office staff were professional and friendly. We highly recommend him.

Absolutely the finest medical care I've received in my lifetime -- prompt, courteous, KNOWLEDGEABLE, a great-communicator, Dr. Hiltz and staff are the greatest comfort to me as I continue aging.

I wish I could leave a minus negative zero rating for this doctor! If you love your loved ones I wouldn't let this doctor treat them. He was my mom's doctor and he treated her like she was a second class citizen.He was so rude and condescending. He talked down to her and commented on her having medicare several times. He made her cry more than once, I was so taken aback. I have never seen doctor treat a patient like he did her., and other patients who had him as a doctor had similar experiences
