My very first appointment with Dr. Cortes was for a pre op clearance for bunion surgery. I went to Dr. Cortes because my previous doctor was no longer accepting my insurance. Upon hearing that I was going to have a podiatrist perform the surgery, Dr. Cortes strongly advised me to first schedule a consultation with an orthopedic surgeon as they have more experience performing surgery than podiatrists. He told me it would be my decision and he would give me the clearance if I wanted it. I am SO glad that I took his advice. My surgeon did an amazing job. I also later found out that a colleague of my husband had the same surgery I had but with the podiatrist that I had originally scheduled my surgery with and her surgery was not done correctly and didn’t heal properly. I can’t thank Dr. Cortes enough for encouraging me to seek an orthopedic surgeon.

Never Again
Office staff is RUDE. Doctors appear to be aloof regarding appointments—I’ve had to remind them at times why I was there (you literally scheduled my follow-up appt? Huh?!). Wait time is incredible—why am I here 5–10 mins early just to have to wait in the lobby and additional hour? They bill labs incorrectly which results in super bills they refuse to correct. I will never go here again. EVER!

Maria is a horrible receptionist
First off only giving 1 star because you cant leave no stars. His office doesn't even deserve this star. Your receptionist are lazy and rude and disrespectful. You need to reevaluate your morals and what you stand for in the medical field cause your staff is ridiculous and rude. Maria needs to be fired she can't even speak clear English and the little English she does speak isn't helpful or useful . She needs to be fired along with the rest of your disrespectful staff . Unfortunately we will be reporting your office to the better business bureau since you won't do nothing about the staff you keep.

Do not recommend this MD office
Their customer service is terrible. They don’t ever answer the phone and close for weeks at a time. I’m supposed to pick up a monthly Rx. That they refuse to ever send electronically and it’s always written wrong. The most recent episode occurred this week where they wrote the script wrong and blamed the Patient. I do not recommend this MD to anyone.

I was a patient of Dr. Cortez for over 15 years and with one phone call about paperwork with one of his worker’s which was very rude to me on the phone .When I just ask a simple question turn out to be my last day with him. I received a letter in the mail letting me know he no longer wanted to be my doctor .15 years and this is how it played out. I tried to reach out from another family member that goes to him to get some understanding about the situation and it was told by his wife that the office manager would reach out to me about the situation no call. So I tried again and call to get refills on my medication until I can find me a new doctor When you have build a Doctor patient relationship for that many years is very hard to start over with a new doctor. But at the end of the day this is where I’m at I wish Dr. Cortes the best thank you for the service over 15 year’s.

Since the pandemic my office appointment was via phone and they contacted me to make sure everything was good and called in needed meds. I have been Dr. Cortes patient for 10 years plus and he has always treated me with kindness and thoroughness along with his staff. I have come to experience that each doctor is different so is each patient.

He has the bedside manner of Dr. Mengele. Runs through appts. like his feet are on fire and he must immediately leave. Not explanatory, not reassuring, depends upon multiple drugs as a fix-all for any malady. Lacks personality and compassion. I wouldn't let him tend to a corpse. My wife was under his care in a hospital. He came to see her at 6AM and was off to see his next patient in less than 5 minutes without explaining anything. Will never allow my wife to see him again.

Staff and doctor extremely, rude and unprofessional. Lacking in attention to detail and empathy in general. People say the team will follow the leader and in this case it is true. Bad leader, worse team.

The worst unorganized office and waiting time on phone and the doctor shows very little concerns for your problems and just hands out medication like candy. Getting someone on the phone is terrible and you wait in that little room up to half hour

Horrible doctor and staff. These people only care about making money. Dr. Cortes sent me to do a CT, it showed that my gallbladder etc. was normal. I followed up a few weeks later. He came to examine me, didn’t even bother to have me put on a garment. Instead, he touched my stomach and said, “IT’S YOUR GALLBLADDER .” I had to remind him my test results showed it wasn’t. He didn’t even bother to read my test results. Money has this doctor all confused. NEVER AGAIN. He could kill somebody.

Surprise to see how unfriendly and unapproachable the staff at Dr. Cortes office. The staff front end and office manager seem to enjoy proving their customers wrong and arguing. At one point I had the entire front staff against me simply because I was questioning a $25 copay which the office manager on a previous visit informed me the ear lavage would be covered & several weeks later she changed her story so it was her word against mine. These are the same people I trust with my PHI scary!
