Cold, Compassionless
The worst experience I've ever had with a doctor. Met with her for approximately 40 seconds - not exaggerating - after going in for a routine ultrasound where it was noticed that our baby had a cystic hygroma and increased nuchal translucency. She told us point blank that something was wrong, there was nothing they could do about it, the CH was typically a sign of a chromosomal issue or heart defect, that we'd need additional testing, they'd call us to make an appointment for a CVS procedure and that we could leave. No empathy, no kindness - information was delivered in a very cold, frank manner without any concrete details regarding the prognosis. 'Conversation' felt rushed. Asked if we had any questions but we were frankly too stunned by her delivery to ask anything. Looked at her post-appointment write up after the fact and she'd logged that she'd spoken with us 'at length' and answered all of our questions - completely false. The baby is fine, by the way. The CH resolved.

Agree totally with lack of empathy. She gave us a diagnosis and didn’t have any compassion for the hard news. Also was a false diagnosis. Do not recommend at all.

Dr. Platek was my fetal maternal doctor when I was carrying identical twins and I had other health issues - I was very high risk. She couldn't do enough for me and was there whenever I needed her expertise. I would go back to her in a heart beat.

I didn't have a great experience with this doctor. 1 appointment was more than enough. I would strongly encourage anyone pregnant with multiples to look for a different doctor. I'm having twins.
