Dr. Deardra Rivera, MD

Took a message that was meant for a different doctor and without reading the content at all responded with something completely irrelevant. Not detail oriented.

This happened a few years ago in Federal Way. Changing doctors and insurance saved my life. She’s very friendly but diagnosed me with severe depression after I complained of chronic diarrhea. She looked me up and down and said, “You look fine,” and proceeded to do zero testing. She was resistant to giving referrals and continued to minimize my concerns. I tried to change my primary but the care center made it difficult. I ultimately changed insurance (she was with Kaiser at the time) and I found a new primary care doctor in Tacoma. A short while later, I was admitted to the hospital in need of emergency surgery. It was NOT severe depression! Avoid if you value your life.

I am not her patient, but couldn't get an appointment with my doctor. My impression about her as unattentive and uninterested in patient (m.b. because i an not her patient). To my two health problem she asked questions, wrote answers and in event said she has to go back on my medical history before she will make a decision. She send me more questions on email, which i answered. In few days her nurse called me and said that to my first concern Dr.Rivera doesn't see a need to address (!) and with second one i have to make another appointment with her to talk more about that. I see it as a reason to charge insurance twice ??!! I may be wrong. My concern was not addressed and make another appointment with doctor who is not interested in helping me, would be a waste of my time and insurance$$. I only hope that with her patient she is more involved.
